feeling it?

Well. Last week was fairly typical regarding the Marjorie situation--at least in terms of the amount of time we spent together.

It culminated, so to speak, on Thursday morning. We were the only two in the office for over an hour. We were talking about work, life in general, etc.

After a while, I took stock of the situation. In other circumstances, this would have been different: the two of us, sitting across a table from each other, drinking coffee, etc. But in this life, I just wasn't feeling that there was anything to it, at least definitely not from my end. Could there have been more? Beats me. I took a step back and simply realized I had no real interest in wrecking everything on a stupid "distraction." And frankly, I felt more relaxed after that point.

(Even though she made a mildly risque joke about her husband's "balls," a double entendre on basketballs--I didn't react much. It wasn't particularly funny. And she really lathered on the compliments about my ideas--to the point that I wondered if she actually meant it or if she was being a little manipulative. But a woman wouldn't do that to a guy who's easily manipulated, would she?)

The epiphany was a good breakthrough for you. As long as you don't do anything to encourage her, you are fine. You might, however, have to remind her that talking about her husband in a derrogatory manner at work is inappropriate and counterproductive.

But to your question? No.... women never, ever, manipulate men.

And, also, you never have to fear the wrath of a rejected woman. That's just an old wive's tale.

(can you detect the scent of sarcasm? hehe)
