Follow-up on that Hot Summer Guest

It has been ages since I last posted to my blog. I had promised myself that I would complete the account of the exciting few days that my wife and I spent with Mark before I would move on to writing about other things.

But somehow I just haven't seemed capable of writing something that does the experience justice.

So, I am giving myself permission to write about other things.

But before leaving the subject of Mark for a while, I want to ask people's opinion about whether it would be nuts to contact him after all these years.

Subsequent to those few days together with him, there has been absolutely no contact. He did leave us with his address at the time.

Recently I decided to do some digging. I found the name of the high school in the town where he lived back then. And on the high school's alum web site I found a picture of him at a reunion. In the listing of addresses, all that was given was the name of the major city in which he was last known to be living. Searching his surname in that city, I found someone that seemed to be him. Other records connected him back to his old hometown. I located his wife, who is an attorney, and through internet searches of her, I found a pic of the two of them with their 3 children. Mark still looks sexy as hell.

I found Mark's e-mail in a PDF of a community organization in which he participates.

Should I e-mail him and tell him how fondly I remember those few days so long ago? I think it would be a kick.

No, let it go. Write about it, put into prose or poetry how you feel/felt, why you think he has disappeared, why you want to contact him, what you would say to him if he returned to you and your wife, what you shared with him...basically describe your feelings.

I think there will be others and until he comes to you, write about what you want from these relationships.

Good luck.
