Ok so this post is a bit different from any of the others I have made, but at work we were talking about ghostly encounters we've had and I'd figured I would write about mine. First let me just say I am a very skeptical person by nature, I do not believe in God, bigfoot, crystals or most things supernatural really, and consider myself a person of reason. But that said I did once have an encounter I could not explain. At the time I was not high or drunk and was about 16 or 17 when this happened. (P.S. all you skeptics I would not believe me if I was in your place)
Ok so one night at my house I was trying to fall asleep and my bedroom door opened by itself. I heard someone or something walk in to my room. I had thought it was one of my cats but nothing was their and I could "feel" someone in my room. (have you ever been on your computer and someone walked in, you didn't hear them or see them but knew their was someone behind you? kind of like that). Whatever it was moved to my bed and "sat" down, keep in my mind I could not see anyone or anything it was as if it was an invisible person. Well their was a compression on my bed, as if an invisible person was siting on the bed next to me, I went to touch it and it caused a bunch of blue static electricity.
It was over just like that, and I just can't explain what had happened. Now it is very likely someone may have died in the house, the previous owner's had a mother who died of cancer, and the house had been set up as a hospital room for her last days, though not sure if she actually did pass away in the house or not.
Now as a person of reason I have come to believe in ghosts. Every human culture on the earth has a concept of a ghost and for the most part they are pretty similar. How can that be? We don't even share the same concept of a god? That can't be a coincidence. Also a lot of people I know have stories of ghostly like encounters. I think ghosts do exists in the real world and can exist in the realm of science. I just don't think we have the technology or understanding yet as to why these things happens, so it falls under the unexplained phenomena.
Now to all those who are reading this and thinking I'm full of BS, I was like you until this happened to me and was faced with the choice of accepting I saw something I could not explain or accept it and let my world view change. I think a die hard person of science would probably choose to believe they were crazy or experienced some kind of temporary psychosis than to accept it. Anyways thats just my rant on the subject.
