I'm not a fan of it either I've seen too many hearts break (all at once mind you) on this day and its left a bad impression on me for that reason amongst the fact I just find it, we'll say silly.
you should try to have fun with it. just a bunch of sad sacks that don't know how to interact with other folks. make the best of it and get out there. lots of folks not looking for any commitment. find a group, become a part of it and have some fun. geez, it's not that hard.

Gosh, I suppose the original poster never thought about that before. "Hey, today I should stop being a sad sack and find people to befriend!" Have any more useless information to impart? About how if he tries hard enough he can be as rich as Mitt Romney?
Meh,
I'm indifferent when it comes to valentines, even now, being at my quarter century as well.
For me, relationships have never been a goal or something to strive towards, but I do understand feeling a bit down around this time of year.
Friends and I usually meet up for drinks or dinner at one of our houses. It's way more fun, I think.
Besides if I were in a relationship around this time of year, I'd be incredibly stressed thinking about what to do, and how to make it more special than last year or more special than what the other person's experienced. No thanks.
PS: tgirl, the OP didn't say he was lonely and had no friends.
