So a few days ago, the BF and I got gym memberships at 24 Hour Fitness. We gave up our Netflix and a couple other minor things to help make up for the extra cost. I love being in the gym! We just got home a bit ago. I did upper body weights and a little bit of lower body weights, but most of my lower body workout came from biking 2 miles.
Do you have any idea how long it's been since I've traveled more than, say, 3 blocks outside of an automobile? Entirely too long. Years easily.
I was surprised I could even DO two miles. Ha. When I first started, my goal was a half mile. The only reason I stopped at 2 was because my legs were starting to burn a bit. I could have kept going if my legs would have been up for it. I'm covered in sweat and I smell horrible and I LOVE IT.
The BF had a pretty great workout too. Signing up entitled us both to one free personal training session, and his was tonight. Poor guy made it about 3/4 of the way through before he had to hit up a trashcan to throw up. I felt bad for him but he loved it. Not the throwing up bit so much, just working himself that hard. He wanted to keep going but the trainer thought maybe it was a good time to stop. Lol. I agreed.
So now the BF is bathing and I'm patiently awaiting my turn in the shower. I wanna go to the gym every day! I'll probably go 5-6 days a week and do upper body weights/cardio each time. The upper body weights are mostly to tone and the cardio mostly takes care of my lower body. I need cardio more than I need weights, so I'd rather reserve the energy in my legs for walking/biking. The legs are actually in pretty good shape muscle-wise, that's probably from lugging my fat ass around all over the place.
I'm sort of assuming that treadmills are better than bikes for cardio? I dunno. I need to do whatever I can to lose weight in my mid-section. I'm a total apple. I have a hard time walking on the treadmill or doing stair-climber-type machines, though, because it screws with my vertigo and makes me dizzy. Bikes leave my upper body mostly stationary (my head doesn't bob around as much) so I can do it without getting dizzy. Hopefully it's enough to burn the fat in my stomach. I'm so tired of this body.
So anyway. That was a lot of random chatter. I'm just really happy. I almost didn't go to the gym tonight because I was SO TIRED from only getting ~4 hours of sleep last night, but I'm glad I did. I feel slightly more energized, and just 'better' in general because I was doing something really good for myself.
I'll shutup now.
