Is it insanity, maturity or both?

I find that the women and men here that I like and respect the most, are the ones I think I could meet in real life and talk to over a cup of coffee and nosh for a few hours. Oddly they are also the ones I rarely agree with on the alleged big issues such as politics, sex; and religion. I don't know if thats a sign of insanity, maturity or both. :biggrin1:

More oftenthan not, the people I find interesting and learn from are those whose opinions vary from mine. They teach me to "entertain other ideas" as a fellow poster's sig mentions and expand my views on certain subjects.

It's a sign of maturity to consider other viewpoints.

It's a sign of insanity if you allow others to pummel you with their take on issues.

Can we go shopping after our coffee? I need new boots.

My mom got me the most divine Frye boots for Christmas. They were at Marshall's a few weeks ago and had been marked down a few times to only $64.00! I can't wait until Christmas I may wear them all day.:biggrin1:

Ooh, I loooooooove Frye boots. I found a pair of Frye boots I fell in love with at Ann Taylor a couple weeks ago shopping with Snoozy but alas, my budget this year did not allow for them even though they were only ninety bucks.

*sighs*

Fortunately, my other umpteen pairs of boots are still in great shape and wear well.

A sign of maturity, I can't imagine anything more boring than sitting around with someone who agrees with everything I say - where can a conversation go when every response is along the lines of 'oh yes I think so too.'

I need boots to go with this new skirt I'm getting for Christmas. I don't even own a pair of boots that fit anymore. Wahh, why can't you still live nearby, NJ? Bliss, this calls for a shopping expedition. You should have gotten those boots. I'll always remember how great they looked on you. Fuck the budget. Boots are better than heat.

Its sad that I have met girls before that just love being right all the time. They really are boring, but for some reason if you want them in bed all you have to do is agree with them. Essentially be them. Those women are daft, and usually bad in bed so it wasn't worth your time to begin with.

I'm currently dating an insanely smart girl, who's freakier than me in the bed. I'm so happy.

I think that's healthy to be able to have those discussions where you can state your views, they can state theirs and you can agree on a common difference.

As spoiledprincess said most eloquently, being with like people is very boring. My friends are all very diverse, and I don't think we would be friends if we were at all similar.

It is certainly a sign of gross immaturity to be unable to tolerate differences of opinion, ergo ...

I should also add that the ability to respectfully disagree is unfortunately very rare ...

If two people say/think the same thing in a conversation, one of them should be taken out back and shot.

The argument (about who should be shot) would be a lot more interesting!

I think you just get on with other people who share your weird and unnatural lust for footwear.

It's been said that a stupid person will surround him/herself with smart people, but a smart person will surround him/herself with smart people who disagree with them.

Oh, and I have like 60 pairs of shoes/boots.

It is a sign of an enlightened mind. And unfortunately the table is packed for Christmas morning. We are having a wonderful fritata, mimosas, and steaks.
