It was a spur of the moment thing. I decided that I wanted one on Friday night and got it the next day. (March 29, 2008)
I figured it was removable if I no longer decided I wanted to keep it. I think I will keep it forever. I am looking into buying an acrylic ring so that it does not set off any metal detectors in the future.
I checked into places in my area on line. The closest place that was strictly a piercing place and state certified was 30 miles away. My GPS got me there easily.
I was thinking I was gonna be the only one there. Boy, was I wrong. There were teenage girls with their parents, at least 4 sets. At one point a guy came in with his daughters (I'm guessing) he looked young and his too skinny daughters did not look over 12 years old.
I had to walk to the counter and this girl that looked like she came from Hollywood casting for a piercing parlor helped me. Other people were looking at display cases around me so it was a little embarrassing.
I say I want to get a "P.A". She then asked for and took my drivers licence. She brought out two types of rings. One was closed and the other was a circular barbell. I knew that I wanted the barbell type one. She then wrote up the paper work. She did not ask me what type of ring I wanted. I think they automatically give you Titanium so that they can charge you $40 for the ring. The piercing was $50 and with the soap and salt water spray it came out to $110.
She said I can either get a 12 gauge (smaller) or a 10 gauge. She said the 10g was better if I wanted to put larger rings in later. So I decided on the larger 10g one.
She brings out two rings and says that the piercer will decide what size I need. (more about that at the end)
She tells me it will be a few minutes. That turned out to be a 45 minute wait. There were 3 or 4 teenage girls ahead of me. I think the piercer took a break too.
The website said to eat within 3 hours prior to doing the piercing. I was so excited that I was not hungry so I got some Chicken McNuggets on the way there.
While I was waiting I took my last pee as a person without a piecing, so that I would not have to go as soon as I left.
When they call me in, he asks if I have any questions. I don't even remember what I asked him.
I start taking off my pants and he says "you can leave them on" I sit on a table that looks like a doctors exam table. My pants are below my knees and I tell the guy that I have to take them off because it is too uncomfortable.
I sit back on the table and he starts marking a spot where the piercing will come out thru. When I look the mark is gone. He starts to do it again.
I read that it was not that bad, and that it did not hurt too much. So I start to feel something and it is not too bad, but then I realize that he is just marking it again.
Now the bad part. I feel a horrible rush of pain.
He says "Okay". I look down and I am expecting to see a ring. Instead I see this cork and needle thru my dick.:frown1:
On a pain scale from one to 10 it was a 10.
So now I am expecting the same sharp pain when the ring is going in, but it was just uncomfortable. I bled very little. They say you should not drink or have aspirin or Tylenol beforehand because it thins your blood and you will bleed more. I only saw a little spot of blood on the tissues that he wiped with.
I then put my clothes on and gave the guy a $10 tip (20% of the $50 piercing fee)
By the time I put my pants back on the pain was gone. I was smiling as I walked past the waiting area wondering if the teenage girls and their moms knew what I just did.
Today I was checking on line for new jewelery and I realized that they did not tell me what size ring that they used. I needed to know that so I can get the same size diameter.
I called today and they told me it was the larger of the two..... 3/4 inch.:biggrin1:
