I miss open showers.
In the Army I've seen various versions of the open showers, depending on which base I was in. At Fort Knox there were just open rooms. The biggest gym on post had about 10 shower heads in a square. Privacy from the actual locker room was just a standing wall where one could hang their towels. I met a guy there who had a huge cock. He was the first one to teach me about jelqing. He was former Army who had gotten a shit job on base just to have access to the gym and showers there. At the other big gym on post the showers were far more basic, four shower head set in pairs in a small space, and open to the lockers. I used to choose the lockers closest to the showers for the best views. At Fort Polk the long shower room had hung shower curtains between each shower head. This afforded some privacy as you could only see the three showers across from you and to either side. This led to some guys putting on little shows with limited audience. the small gym on Fort Belvoir was still rocking these multi-shower heads like the pic I included. Bonus was the sauna and steam room were directly across from the shower room so you could sit there and watch everyone shower. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
Just before lock down most of the gyms near me started getting rid of open showers, building privacy stalls, but back in the day it used to just be open for everyone. The Downtown Y had a long shower room with a dozen shower heads on either side, and you had to walk through it to get to the pool. It also had a three man shower down by the steam rooms as well.I heard through the grape vine that the purpose of the privacy stalls was so that guys would stop fucking around at the Y but all it did was allow for more privacy so they could fuck around even more.
