I posted the following on another site first, but I decided to post it here as well because I still enjoy the people here.
Okay, my bank Wamu has been good to me over the last 10 years, never had even the slightest issue, until yesterday.
Background info- I cut it very close each and live paycheck to paycheck, I save what I can but in the days before my next paycheck I'm at around $10.00 (or less) but I have never had an overdraft fee because I'm very on top of my finances.
Further info- I signed up for 24 hour fitness (Which I can/could afford) and I would be okay because me work gave us a $20 discount on a monthly sub with no signup or processing fee.
Story- Well yesterday that changed there were three charges I was expecting and nothing else those charges totaled 18.58, I would have had about 10 bucks in my account and been fine because I get paid on Midnight Friday. Well something happened, 24 hour fitness charged me monthly fee early by 10 days (I was ready for the 24 hour fit fee on my next paycheck)
The signup lady assured me that all charges on my account would be on the 28's so I was ready for that (and only that) so I called 24 to ask them what happened and they said that the policy says it’s on the 16th and that they would not refund or do anything because technically it was correct. I argued for well over an hour when a supervisor ended my call after saying it was out of her hands.
So let’s see, my account was overdrawn about $20 and $96 in fees, so owe the bank $116 (actually it was 128 in fees but the first fee is free)
I can not afford that, no way in hell, it’s just not possible, so I called my bank...
The CSR was very nice, I explained what happened, she said that if it was an invalid charge they would remove the fees, but that included meant doing a charge back, and the charge was accurate so the CSR said they would end up just putting all the fees back at a later date. So I asked what else they can do and she said that a manager at a branch or over the phone are the only people who can help me, I was looking more closely at my online statement and noticed that the order in which the charges processed worked in favor of the bank, as in it took 24 hours charge first causing me to instantly overdraw then took the other charges out as well. (If they would have done it in reverse it would have been only one fee)
So when I got to the manager I explained that to him and he said that its not controlled in the order that this happens, I then also explained that I never had this problem before and if he looks 24's last charge was on the 28th and that right before income comes into my account I was always down to the nickels and dimes.
The manger told me that "he understands where I'm coming from" and then also said "it’s out of his hands" and "he feels me" then decided to explain to me how insane it would be for the bank to look at the order they went in, they just went in the order they did. At this point I began to sob a little bit because I didn't know what else to do, I then I said if he could just waive one or two I would still pay it his response was that they would only do it if it was their error, which it was not. I pointed out that there is no way I can afford this to which he promptly explained that it’s not his problem and ended the call with me.
Next Step?- I don't really know what to do, my work is on auto deposit and there is no way I can stop that before it goes in, so they are going to get their money. I don't have a credit card, I was raised thinking they were worse then the devil himself and now I just feel stupid.

Now I'm going to just sit here and cry.
