Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon

After finishing all 200 episodes/5 seasons of Sailor Moon, I decided that it was necessary to watch the TV Series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. It was okay, but many things were changed. Instead of transformation wands, they had transformation bracelets. In place of Usagi-chan's brooch, it was a necklace with a pendent. Luna and Artemis weren't real cats, but they were talking stuffed animals (which was somewhat cute and funny). The Shittenou were the way they were in the anime/manga series. The youma/monsters weren't sexy, chaotic women. Zoisite was a pianist. Tuxedo Kamen/King Endymion was the leader of the Shittenou in his past life. Oh yeah, and Princess Serenity was the real reason for the destruction of the Earth. That was the plot that really ticked me off!
Now, I did like the way the actresses portrayed each Sailor Soldier, except for Sailor Venus/Minako-Chan. She pissed me off the most. The other's played their roles well. The girl who played Usagi-chan was perfect. I loved her! Mako-chan, Rei-chan, and Ami-chan, the same. Mamo-chan was just like Tuxedo Kamen, with his cool entrance lines, but he was just as good.
They did drastically change the story in making Usagi-chan come off as the Phoenix/Jean Grey in X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Supposedly, for the love of Endymion, Princess Serenity destroyed the Moon Kingdom and the Earth Kingdom. Funny enough, P. Serenity comes back as some alter-ego. Now she's powerful as fuck and a badass, which I like, but the bitch wants to destroy the world because of one dick that's she's never tasted. WTF!!!! Exactly. And the way the series ended, pissed me off to the fullest.
The Silver Moon Crystal was a big mystery. I was searching for the bitch under my bed. I was thinking that they were going to follow a little bit of the plot from the manga/anime, but no. Usagi-chan, tried her best to suppress the power of the silver moon crystal that's mysteriously embedded in her body, but her alter-ego takes over, being the psychotic bitch that she is. She was unbelievable powerful. She even summoned a dozen secret moon service bitches to fight against the other senshi. Unbelievable!
When Sailor Venus comes into action, she lies to everyone saying that she's the princess, only to lead the bad guys away. I was confused myself. I thought the writer's changed the whole story around. She was very secretive with the other senshi and kept all information away from them. Not cool. She claimed that she was the leader in the "past life" so she's in charge now. She just pissed me off! She was a bitch. She was too proud. I wish Rei-chan beat the living shit out of her. Nothing like Minako-chan in the cartoon. She was really bossy too.
Makoto-chan, Mamo-chan's best friend, was the clown of the show. He wasn't this cool, handsome guy like in the anime. He was a buffoon. Naru-chan was the sexiest out of all the girls. She was hot. Usagi-chan's mom was cool.
Let me not forgot a newly added sailor senshi, Sailor Luna. Yes, the stuffed, talking animal can turn into a little girl with blue hair and a tail. Then she can transform into a senshi with a cute, little, pink mobile phone. She same kind of phone that all the other senshi have to do their disguises with. Sailor Luna was ok. I can somewhat understand why they added her. But why wasn't Artemis able to transform into a human?
The Shittenou (Zoisite, Kunzite, Jadeite, Nephrite) were all pussy whipped. The only sought the love of Queen Beryl-sama. The most whooped of them all was Jedaite. Even when he did remember a little of his past life, and even when Beryl removed the curse off of him, he still wanted to serve her. Kunzite blamed his master, Endymion, for the destruction of the world in past. So he wanted revenge because he felt betrayed. Nephrite was somewhat lost. Zoisite only wanted to serve Mamo-chan once he realised he was Endymion. It was all weird.
At the end of the day, I still liked the show, mostly because of Usagi-chan. Usagi-chan always gets to me. In some episodes of Sailor Moon and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, I almost did cry. So I have this deep love for her. It's as if she's apart of me now. It sounds crazy, but it's true.
After watching all these episodes, I found some other cool stuff. Like the "Birth of Tuxedo Kamen". Funniest thing ever. I laughed so hard. Also, there were this live stage performances with the actors and actresses themselves. It was fabulous. They performed for the kids in character and sang songs from the show. Even the PGSM song is stuck in my head now. I can't get it out! LOL
If you haven't watched it, try and watch. Unfortunately, all the episodes of PGSM that I watched from a particular profile were removed off Youtube, after I got through watching them all LMAO. But they're still very much on Dailymotion.

Yes, I didn't care for PGSM all toi much on the plot either. It was so deviant for me from the original that it just rubbed me the wrong way. I liked the characters though, and the whole Venus thing made me sad. It's funny I haven't seen it in years, so I may need to rewatch it, I remember I loved Mars (she was also in Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), and while I loved Jupiter in the anime and manga, I can't remember her at all in PGSM, like what she looked like or how her personality was. So it makes me think she was probably underdeveloped in the plot. And I totally forgot about Sailor Luna until I read it again, and now remember, yeah she was really cool. And hey I thought Motoki was plenty hot, to me hotter than the guy who played Mamoru.

PS I hated that whole Sailor Moon/Princess Serenity is an emo bitch plot too.

I totally feel you. Towards the end, I did have a stronger attraction towards Mamo-chan, but that was thanks to Usagi-chan's obsessiveness for the guy. He just became hotter for me :D Same in the cartoon :biggrin1:
