Psychotherapy: resolving family issues and the aftermath

following on from the previous post about 'sexuality'...

I finally caught up on zoom with a long time female friend and she is a therapist.
We got to know each other during a training for a psychotherapy method.

She was telling me how her family was a totally nightmare for her. How one of her sisters is still lying about the family and the relationship with my friend. How her sister is so toxic and egoistic towards my friend that she turned 'a little bit of a truth' into a huge untruth. Example: maybe the sister coached her during the training and then the friend was able to develop and carry on without that coaching; but now the sister tells the rest of the family that 'I helped X the whole way through and without me she would not be a qualified therapist'.

The thing I want to bash today...is that a lot of the family issues was discussed and dealt with during the training - training and personal development all wrapped into one.

BUT, she is left with the feelings of shame for belong to such a family.
Now she noticed and expressed this to me.. that the training group was happy to discuss the 'family' but not her feelings of shame.
Life goes on for her and some things will remain unresolved but I'm again wondering about this method known as 'psychotherapy' and please.. if reading this.... do not get me wrong.. I'm sure I am not that well developed to be the perfect psychotherapist (I'm not) that I am complaining about here in blog...

I'm shocked at the lack of ?? scientific, procedural structures and ? that are not in place .. I mean some one cries enough times to a therapist about something... shouldn't that therapist at least address it...??
A lot of us know about the idea of the 'boy who cried wolf to often' but we are paying these people to 'care' about us.. and it is not about 'me finding a better therapist' I think it is a. structural problem that a lot of therapists just following a script...

My friend will deal with her family and her shame but the point was that despite it being brought up more than once, the leaders of the training didn't address. This disturbs me and it disturbs me because people are paying money, being advised about other courses and things to do that cost money and maybe to take medicines 'to help you with your problem' when it might be easily solved (in my perfect world) if it was discussed..
