"I found the camcorder I want to buy," I said, knowing we were about to have an argument. It costs more than he would want to pay. We've had the exact same conversation every single time I've ever wanted to buy any kind of technology. TheBF always thinks I can find a "good enough" product that costs half as much as whatever it is that I want to buy. He's really only like that about technology. It drives him crazy how quickly technology depreciates, and that annoyance makes him "thrifty" when it comes to that. Most of the time he wins this argument.
He made a face. Here it comes... He said, "That camcorder will cost a lot less in a year..."
"It's my first son. You aren't going to win this argument." I looked him in the eye.
He hesitated. I repeated myself. Then he nodded his head and said, "Okay, I can see that you've made up your mind."
I smiled, "You're a very wise man."
"Sometimes it takes me a while, but I figure it out eventually," he said.
