So much freakn ice!

Yes, folks, we are in the middle of our SECOND ice storm in five days. Woo. The first ice storm lasted a couple days, but wasn't really too horrible because there were lots of breaks inbetween. Now, we're in the midst of another ice storm that started yesterday evening and has yet to stop - It's now been about 16 hours since the freezing rain started. I have about half an inch of ice on my car. Yuck! NOW... the cool thing is, they cancelled school for both me and my son, so we both get to stay home and chill out today. Today was supposed to be my algebra final, but it gets to be rescheduled, so I have more time to study for it, which is never a bad thing. But here's the kicker - the roads aren't slick! I live about half a block from a major road, and I've been watching cars drive up and down it all day going the speed limit or higher, and it's just wet - no ice to be found. SO... if I really felt motivated to, I could go clean my car off and my son and I could head out for a day of fun! We might just do that later... I love when they cancel school thinking that all hell is going to break loose, but then nothing happens... but school is already cancelled so they can't change their minds. Hehehe. YES!

In other news, I had my psychology final yesterday, and I kicked ass on that. We had six tests throughout the whole semester, including the final. But, we only got graded on five. So... if we took the five tests that we did in class, and we did well and were satisfied with our scores, we could skip the final. But, if we did poorly on a test or missed a test, we could take the final to replace or missing/bad scored test. I happened to miss a test due to illness, so I had to take the final. But the cool part is, I've done so well all semester, that even with a missing test, I had a 76% in the class. I needed to get a 28% on the final in order to get a B, or a 93% to get an A. Guess what I got? 96% BABY! Woo! So my FINAL grade in that class is a 90%, or an A-. I can't remember the last time I had an A in any class. I was such a dork in high school, I just blew it all off. So yeah, I'm pumped about that.

Nothing else major has really been going on. No new news. *sigh* So how are YOU doing?!

Megsy, it sounds like you could do with a tub of icecream...can I send you some? Would you like a glass of iced tea to go with it perhaps? :biggrin1: If it's any consolation, we are cooking in this part of the world...it's wonderful...all the studlies walking around topless while the ladies wear skimpy outfits - wowee! It's hot and hawt all in one.
Right, now that I've finished being a downright prick.... :biggrin1:

CONGRATULATIONS of such excellent results. That is wonderful! I am thrilled for you, most especially because you've gotten a huge confidence booster, right? Well done, Meg...be proud, it's a wonderful achievement!

Everytime I hear things like this, I am reminded why I left the midwest and am glad I live on the west coast.

Congrats on the grades babe!

Well done on the grades - if only my students had been so motivated (though some were and we chalked up a few successes). However, having a day off is a pretty good treat even if the weather is lousy!

We are due for a slight frost in the UK tonight, so its time to put another log on the fire!

Wow! Was worried about you and a few others out there in the frozen mid-west. Glad to hear you are doing okay.

Kudos on the A! That rocks, I knew you'd be a great student.:cool:

To keep this weather related, the Atlanta metro area has had record breaking highs the last 3 days. Sunday it was 77 degrees! It's expected to be in the low 70's the rest of the week and then plummet down into the 40's over the weekend.

Congrats, on the great marks from school,Meggy!

My parents (who live in the southeast corner of the state) have been without power since Saturday. Eeek!! I hope you fared better than they did with electricity. Stay warm and watch out for falling ice.

I had this problem in Wichita with the ice and all. It sucked. I had to have one of my finals rescheduled for tomorrow. It got on my nerves as i had to cancel a flight.
