Something that might set of fuses.

It's my assumption that gay men opposing gay marriage (this doesn't mean I'm including gay men who don't support it) are just the ones society notices for being extremely promiscuous clinging to a way of life that even if gay marriages were allowed would still not even effect them.

Being a furry, I've come across an oddly large number within the community. The ages range all over, so I can't say it's an age thing.

What I find odd is that the people I met who are in 3-person or more relationships still support gay marriage. Kudos to them, despite me not caring much for that sort of lifestyle. I'm glad they support it. It makes me wonder if homosexual polygamous marriages (Mormon style?) would be possible for them.

Someone briefly and plainly explain why a gay man would be -against- gay marriage under 2 stipulations:

1) No bringing religion into this.
2) When I say brief, I mean brief. If it can't be explained in less than a paragraph, then you're pulling at strings to try and validate yourself.

• you seem to have made a somewhat bemusing assumption about marriage & monogamy that should possibly be a thread in its own right

never the less...
• marriage is a flawed institution in the first place. Why would people in a loving relationship want to downgrade that to being 'only married' ???
• if you need a piece of paper to validate a relationship, it ain't much of one in the first place
• it infers you would rather be a 'normal heterasexual' which offends others who take pride in their sexual & philial diversity

I oppose Gay Marriage. Everything except "survivor benefits" can be handled with legal documents, wills, etc. Damn, men. Accept the fact that the general population isn't going to accept a gay marriage, but they will accept a civil union. Take it, and be gone!

PS I'm a gay man in a 15 year relationship
