The only girl I ever loved turned into a golden dove and stayed in California

So....I decided it's time I start taking action and getting on with life since being released from my teaching gig.

Today, I filled out an online application from the library to volunteer - either shelving books, clerically, or as a computer coach.

I also might fill out an application to work at Staples.

What I really want to do is volunteer at Vox Pop. It's a publishing house/coffee shop/artists space in Brooklyn. I want an internship there. My cousin knows the founder, Sander Hicks. I'm hoping he can put in a good word for me but I don't know when he can because he has cancer.

Things really didn't work out with my most recent girlfriend. I think about my first girlfriend and how I want to be with her again. I even had a dream that we were naked in bed together. Some might say it's ridiculous...but I've never met a woman like her before that had interest in me. Usually the women I date have been kind of on the boring side. It means a lot to me to date someone who shares common interests and is cool in a indie/punk way. That's really the most important thing. Someone who gets me and I get her.

gee poet, sorry things didn't work out. its a great thing to find the girl that gets you, that you are excited about.
i am sorry to hear your cousin has cancer and hope it is an early stage diagnosis and that full recovery will take place. I hope that you will be able to get into Vox Pop. In fact I am sure you will be able to. Let us know when you get it. Hang in there and stay positive.

:fingersx: Hope your cousin gets better, and fingers crossed that you get the internship or volunteer opportunity at Vox Pop. :)

Don't worry, she's out there, PP! I so see you with a Kathleen Hanna type.
