THE PROS AND CONS OF BEING A NUDE MODEL FOR ARTISTS

When I was 18 and in my first year of college I saw a flyer on the student bulletin board that nude models were needed for various art classes. At the time my only real experience being seen nude was in the school locker room. I had to pay my way through school, so working was a necessity and the pay for modeling was better than I could make working in a fast food joint or any other job and 18 year old would be hired for. So, without giving myself time to back out I went immediately to the office listed on the flyer and expressed my interest. The woman who was the model coordinator asked me a few questions and asked my availability. Then she told me I could start the next day. Damn, then I was freaking out.

My college was an art school so the realization came that I would be modeling for teachers and students I may know from other classes. I had a good body and was well hung so I didn't fear what they would see, but I had always been private and even when I had to drop my pants for a physical exam, I got nervous about it.

The next day showed up at the class I had been told to go to. The instructor asked about my modeling experience and I told her none. She said she would let me know what types of poses to do and how long to hold them. She showed me the model stand where I would pose and then lead me to a small space that was curtained off and said that I should undress and put on my robe I had been told to bring and just wait for her to call me.

I heard all of the students come in and get situated. The instructor told the class what they were doing for the next few hours and then called me out. I saw a number of students I had met in my own classes. I was so nervous and wondered what the hell I had gotten myself into. Then I was told to drop the robe. It was show time. I was standing there fully nude on a raised platform, with about 25 people surrounding me, with the exception of directly behind me.

I made the big mistake of making eye contact with a good looking girl in the front and she made sensuous movements with her tongue and lips and I felt my cock start to throb. My worst nightmare was coming true. I quickly looked away from the girl and my eyes landed on this very handsome, well built dude. Although I was a virgin, it was at that moment I wondered if I was gay. He was so hot. I felt my cock continue to rise. So there I was with a now erect dick with everyone focused on it.

The instructor quickly changed the pose so my back was to the room and had me sit down so even the students off to the side were not seeing the full impact of my boner. For those who do not know, a model getting an erection in a college classroom is cause not to be hired again. The instructor talked to me after the class to warn me, but thankfully allowed me to come back.

The positive thing to come out of that experience was I figured things could only improve. Modeling is actually strenuous work, if you do it well. My goal is to get into poses that give everyone in every part of the room an interesting view of my body. That can mean some contortions and using muscles that aren't commonly used. You can get cramps and limbs can fall asleep. A model is responsible for being very still and quiet, as well as always being on schedule and being respectful.

Nude modeling can be a good job for a person who has exhibitionist tendencies, but there is nothing at all sexual about it. Students who have never worked with a nude model may act a bit immature, like the girl I mentioned, but they quickly become so focused they don't really see a cock and balls, etc. They are seeing how the bone and muscle structure create lines and shadows and that kind of thing.

Over the years I have posed at colleges, community art centers, and privately for professional artists. I have also posed for body painters. That is an entirely different experience when the artist is touching your body and it is generally in public. It's a bit strange having an artist lift your dick up to access your balls, etc. and to have a bunch of people watching them do it.

If any of you are considering nude modeling for art (versus porn) I highly recommend it, but be aware that it is work, can be boring if you are not good at thinking about other things while posing, and it helps to be a creative person who understands how your body will look from every angle. The upside is if you are at all uncomfortable having people see you nude, you quickly get over it. I have posed for friends and relatives and people I work with occasionally sign up for a class I am modeling for, with neither of us aware of it beforehand. You just have to get over it. And being well hung is not at all a requirement and I would even say a guy of average size may be more desirable so his penis is not the star of the show.

;)My nude modeling career during the past 50 years didn't take as much effort @Hanging6x6:blush:. I envy the confidence and physicality you endured. I've always been self-conscious of my physique, so I fantasized my career, and could freely develop humongous boners for the appreciation of horny, inquisitive young, tight-bodied women.

In reality, my cowardice probably would have precluded any opportunity given:(.
