This Just In...

Well, i was to have left for Dallas this afternoon and a last minute car problem arose on Sunday evening.
My Spanish mechanic dutifully repaired my car at his house and did not charge me.
That guy is awesome.

Today i ran out of time with packing things and decided i would leave tomorrow. This afternoon while at the town hardware store getting keys made for people to check in on the house and for those that would use it as a get away in the summers, Anna - the hardware clerk that i have known for several years asked 'Why all the keys?'.

I explained the situation and she told me that her brother was renting a room for her, but that he would really like to rent a house and could he rent my house? WOW. Talk about timing. So i said sure - send him around. And around came Bixby.

57 years old, much married and divorced and needing a place to hang his hat for a bit. Insanely sanguine fellow, very well accomplished.

He is an alcoholic and drug addict that has been sober 16 years and Anna vouched for him. Bixby and Anna's family have been in the town forever and are well known as a great family.

SO - just as i was ready to lock the place up and leave, i will have income to cover the mortgage, a tenant that will take care of the place so this is seeming like a good thing.

At this point it seems good. Check back in a few months and we will see. lol.

So not only am i frantically trying to pack and fit a ridiculous amount of coats, clothes, and shoes into my car, i have to get the place ready for a renter. SO - it will be a red bull fueled night it seems.

Wow!! That's awesome that you found someone to rent your house to!

Ugh about having to move everything with just your car. My mom did that to us when we moved here the first time a few years ago. I had to leave about 90% of my belongings in storage. It wasn't fun. Hopefully you can take your favorite things and not have to leave too much behind.

I am a believer that God NEVER forgets those who are kind and generous. How else can there be an explanation for finding a renter for your house (yeah, I know, I know 'the luck of the Irish'--LOL).

May God be with you and guide you as you begin a new chapter in your life. All the best in Dallas! Travel safely and may the wind be always at your back and may the road rise up to meet you!

Well I don't know about the luck of the Irish because you have certainly had your share of bad luck lately, but you definately deserve this run of good luck and I hope it follows you all the way to Dallas. Try not to overdo it today you don't want to be too tired to leave tomorrow morning to...LOL. Have a safe and prosperous trip.

WOW good timing... would have been better if you had more time to get the place ready for a renter. But seems like you're not looking a gift horse in the mouth  Good to see life is all coming together for you!
