training day

We had computer training today for some new software. The laptop that was issued to me wasn't working, so....Marjorie and I, who were seated next to each other, had to share.

We took turns, like I'd use the mouse, and she'd type.

At one point we were learning different formatting, and she'd whisper, "Uh-uh," or "Uh-huh," as I picked different colors for fonts and backgrounds. One time I did something, I'm not sure what it was now, that she liked, and she reached out like she wanted to give my arm a fist bump, but she pulled back. Instead she smiled at me. I glanced up, back down, up again, and she was still smiling.

We were should to shoulder for so long I almost reached out to hold her hand. That would not have been good. But it also felt like the most natural thing to do.

Oh well.

We've got that 3 hour car trip coming up. I'm trying to figure out the best way to arrange the driving for the three of us who are going. The one guy will probably have to drive himself. She said, "You're making this too complicated. You and I could just drive up together." I didn't want to bring it up myself. I'm glad she did. Because frankly, I'm the boss. And regardless of my feelings, I would have been uncomfortable asking a female coworker to drive with me by herself.

Then she said, "Guess what? My sister's going to be working in (the city of our destination) that same day!"
