Will my love ever wane?

Ya'll probably came here expecting some mushy love story, right? If so, then I'm probably going to disappoint a bit.

WHY DO I LOVE GOING TO THE GYM SO MUCH?! I wake up thinking about it. Really. I look forward to it all day long. It's the one thing I will still do no matter how tired I am or how lazy I'm feeling. I'm just afraid that one day I'm not going to enjoy it anymore and not enjoying the gym, for me, will probably mean not going. (I'm one of those people that has a REALLY hard time pushing herself to do things she doesn't want to do.)

My schedule starting next week, I've decided, is going to be Monday thru Saturday. All six days will be cardio. Three of those days (Mon/Wed/Fri) will be upper body weights. Last night I did one set of upper body weights, 2 miles on a bike, another set of upper body weights, then another mile on the bike. That's pretty great for someone that is more than 100lbs overweight and has a completely sedentary lifestyle. Before I got this gym membership, my 'exercise' consisted of a walk around the block or shopping. Lol. So, I'm pretty stoked about being able to pull off 3 miles on the bike. My legs are pretty rubbery when I'm done, but I love it. And if I'm doing it six days a week, I should be able to up my mileage pretty quickly. My only "complaint" about the bike is that the damn uncomfortable seats make my ass fall asleep. Maybe that won't happen as easily when I'm less fat.

I totally understand. I am the same way. I'm about to go on my honeymoon (yay me) on a small cruise ship that has no gym in it. as excited as i am to be getting married -- as much as i love my soon-to-be husband -- i am seriously worried about being out of the gym for that long!

It can be addicting, because you feel so good afterward. I would however caution you not to push yourself so hard that you run into "burn-out"

And sixtwo190...It Shows!!

Yay!!!! Good on you IT!!! Well done!

I'm also gonna throw out a caution not to push yourself too hard. I got a stress fracture a week and a half into an exercise program back when I started losing weight because I was pushing myself too hard. I kept telling myself 'No excuses' and ignoring the pain in my leg. Bad idea. I ended up on crutches for almost 2 months.

And don't worrying too much about eventually not enjoying it. If you enjoy it now, chances are that you will enjoy it later. And once you have a habit established it won't be too hard to keep that habit up.

That is awesome good for you! Working out is addicting. :) Course I say this based off of when I was working out. I've hit a lull but looking to restart my routine up again. Gotta make sure I look good for my hubby! Hehe

I was addicted and went 6x a week, 2 hours a day. I unfortunately burnt out and stopped going for nearly a year. I'm only now trying to get myself to go 5x a week again. The problem is that if you burn out you'll stop going. Do what you know you can maintain long term.
