Last weekend I went to a 4th of July party being thrown by a neighbor. I hadn't seen him since last 4th of July at someone else's neighborhood party, as he's a recluse. Unbelievable. He's always been a beer gut guy and couch potato since I've lived in the neighborhood. When he answered his door, I was blown away. It's got to be really cool to have every single person have their collective jaws drop. His gut was replaced by light ripples, his chest was muscle magazine worthy, and his arms went from flabby limbs to rock hard grapefruits. He said that on the previous 4th of July, he had had enough. He express ordered one of those mirror fitness contraptions and changed his eating habits, He worked out daily 3 hours for 1 hour intervals spaced throughout the day. It was so inspiring, there may be a neighborhood battle to host next year's party with the motivation he provided.

Just yesterday I was wandering a local casino when a guy kept shouting my name. I ignored it, since my name is pretty common. I get a hard tap on my shoulder, turn around, and said to the guy, "Do I know you?". He said who he was. I was his supervisor for only about a half year at a job he really hated. He was a roly-poly jolly short round guy, like a human 8-ball. He was going to his car from the casino pool to get something when he spotted me. Just like Mr. 4th of July, I was mesmerized. He was absolutely ripped, and had a fantastic tan. He had moved out of the area a long time ago, and was just in town visiting. He was in a hurry, so I wasn't able to ask him what he had done to himself (in a fun way), but this now makes four people I've known in just the last year who look nothing like their former selves. It goes without saying their social lives take a spike along with it.
