Too heavy and too slow... but it's a start!

I was in China last summer and I didn't see one gasoline powered scooter. There are thousands of electric ones on the city streets though. They are totally quiet and there is no smoke.

I don't know why they are all electric. Maybe it's by law or maybe it's cheaper to run them. It seems like a very practical idea though.
