    Marlon Brando was the king of 50s cool. Hard to top him , though there are Clift and Dean, who are also good as well. Interestingly, Elvis did copy some of Dean's acting early in his acting career before he became himself later in his movies. If you look at Love Me Tender and Jailhouse Rock, Elvis was copying Dean at that point in his career.
