$ 150 Billion, I can see it now, every business in America is poised to raise prices for the next few weeks to get this distribution before it happens. And when the checks are distributed and cashed, the inflation will be there that day too. Don't these people realize that the market adjusts for this kind of economic stimulus package news ? Taxpayers are supposed to get more or rather keep more of what they earn, this in turn gets us to spend more and create jobs. I say we'll wind up just buying what we've always bought and just pay more for it.
I don't think I can buy any more gasoline, my vehicle goes so far on a gallon and the distance hasn't changed any, so the only part of the formula for record profits to happen in 2008 is that I have to pay more than $3.15/gallon. As for food, I eat enough to be healthy, wouldn't want to be obese ? Clothes, I've already got more than I can wear.
