I was once a coach for The Special Olympics Hawaii and do what I can to help the organization when I can so I participated in one in Hawaii (Don't laugh the water was cold) I can't link the article because there are minors in the photos. Here is a blurb about the event. (We raised about $20,000.00)
- Hawaii's own version of the Polar Bear Club took a dip in frigid waters today- right here in the tropics! Why would they jump into a freezing pool? To raise money for Special Olympics Hawaii.
Melting icecaps- right here on Oahu! Wheelbarrows of ice and more ice got dumped into the pool till it was 30 chilly degrees! Fifteen tons of ice.
A little cold, but these volunteeers were all freezin' for a reason! All the money raised in Hawaii helps this state's Special Olympians.
