Not big on new year new you stuff because any time is a great to get fit and healthy..... so curious what a fitness goal may be for you this year ?

I am considering stepping on stage one more time ... possibly in fall.
If you do, you'll do great.
Thanks for asking. My goals are a lot more humble. Still on my fitness path, I've already passed previous goals, and each time I do, I just keep moving the goal line farther away. Having already lost about 40 pounds, I'd like to drop another 20 pounds or so, and focus on my core, which lags behind all other body parts. Once I'm there, my goals will probably change again.
Last week, while brushing my teeth, I noticed the definition between my deltoid heads for the first time in a long time, which really psyched me. It's the little things, right?

I wish there was a love button here ... yes all bout the journey and noticing the little changes . So awesome on your lose of weight and I have no doubt you will meet your goal. So many forget that weight was not gained overnight so you won't lose it overnight.

Keep being a huge motivation to everyone here !!!!

I've had the same thought about the love button, but I guess not having one makes it necessary to actually articulate what we like :) . I, for one, like doing that. Thanks for your encouragement, JJ. Seeing you is always motivation. :)

@JJ_Jumbo: Nice thread. Best wishes for your 2019 goals. I admire guys like you immensely who step on a bodybuilding stage and put it all out there. Most people don't understand the dedication: the time and effort that you will put into being able to step onto that stage at your prime fitness level. The sacrifices you make. I do. And that's why I have mad respect for folks like you.

I'm working to lose 22 pounds by June 20. I weighed 207 on Tuesday, the day I started my diet. My goal is to lose about a pound a week. To get there, I've set weekly and monthly goals. I've increased my cardio and of course, cleaned up my diet!

I've been as heavy as 255 pounds when I was in my last bulking up phase. That's a lot of weight to carry around. But, it allowed me to lift heavy and put on the muscle I sought. It's tough for guys like me who are naturally ectomorphs. But I persevered. Because I learned that fitness is a journey. A life-long journey...

I appreciate the support... and you are absolutely correct it is a life long journey

Best of luck on your goal ... sounds like you are going about it the right way!

Maybe mine should be to reassess my goals. I always wanted to get stronger and stronger and lift heavier and heavier weight. However, for the work I put it, I just can't seem to gain the way I'd like. Plus, my body tends to have its limitations--tendonitis, herniated disks--and maybe it's trying to tell me something that I'm ignoring.

As we age we have to learn to train smarter and listen to our bodies .... you will be surprised how things change if you step back and tweak what you are doing !

Good Luck with you goals man and I look forward to seeing you on stage! For my own goals I would like to finally hit 180 on the scale and then do my first true cut with the possible end goal of finally stepping on stage. We'll see as I know I still have a long way to go.

Keep up the great work, @bigone2 . You're headed in the right direction for competition. Great muscles and proportion.
