It bugs me that in real life people of 30 can consider themselves not fully adult, how long do some people need to grow up?

Quite a while, especially in the US. Not sure why it's more of an issue here than in other places though. Perhaps it has something to do with the high cost of living.

In New Jersey you can keep adult offspring on your health insurance up to age 30.

Well, dig it; In the 80's there was one actor in his 20's who consistently played a teen flawlessly, and that Ralph was Macchio. I tell you, if ever any one actor had a case of voluntary pedamorphism, is was Ralphie.

Ralpt Macchio was stunning...even at 28 he still looked like 16, incredible....

And now at 48 he looks like 38 ;)

in California, actors under 18 have very strict work rules and are required to take school classes. having an older person play a younger role eliminates those regulations and, among them, is the limit of how many hours a day they can work. I'd also imagine the older actors would be a more mature person and be a better actor.

until he turned 18, David Archuleta was limited in how many hours he could be on the American Idol set and had to have a tutor at the studio.
