Im surprised there isn't a thread about this already. (there might be idk)
    This movie was amazing.
And also for all you gay guys on here, the guys are freakin ripped. They are honestly like have the perfect physique. Its crazy. Also, all they wear is like leather underwear and some bulges are quite large and the underwear don't leave much to the imagination.

There is one scene where you see the main character completely naked from behind but its dark so idk if there was anything swinging but the sex scene is pretty hot.

And for us straight guys there are some hot woman with great tits.

Go see it, its a great movie.

In the theater I was in, the whole place burst into laughter when Leonidas was poking the queen. I think the director had intended the scene to be sensual, but as in many scenes in the movie, it was so overwrought as to be comedic.

Yes, the Spartan soldiers did have nice bodies, but honestly, 300 men in red velvet capes and leather jockstraps prancing through a field of wheat was just a little too gay. The tough guy dialog, presumably intended to further the warrior image, in many cases failed, coming off at times as something that sounded like a bad episode of Batman. And the presentation of Xerxes in something that looked like a float from a gay pride parade...It made me wonder just what he wanted Leonidas to do after he got on his knees.

Neverthess, it really wasn't a bad movie. It just would have been a better movie with some of the absurd parts toned down. It's also a curious mixture of historically accurate in places, and fantasy in others. But I guess when an ancient legend gets adapted to a novel, and that gets adapted to a screenplay, there is likely to be a lot of license taken. To their credit, the studio isn't trying to promote the film as historical.

Ericbear, those are my sentiments exactly.

Although '300 men' was a good movie, I feel that there were a few inaccuracies. For example, the Greek hoplites didn't wear 'leather jockstraps', and the Persian warriors of the film bore little resemblance to the original Persian warriors of the 5th century B.C. With regard to the equipment of the warriors and the warrior persona (Greek and Persian), the film 'Alexander' is more accurate.

Keep in mind it was based on the graphic novel, not actual history.

Very much looking forward to seeing the movie but it's not out yet here in Korea. Anyone griping about "a few innaccuracies" btw is COMPLETELY missing the point. This isn't a documentary. I'm planning on seeing it at the Imax theater in Seoul or the one at Incheon.

Well I would agree that Xexes was kinda scary a la Rupaul....but it was after all based on a GRAPHIC novel. Overall I thought that the film was a better representation of the genre than say Sin City. But most importantly was all that man meat running around in a certain state of undress. And oh my lord lets not even mention Alexander if you wanna mention historical inaccuracies......

I saw the trailer last night, looks like a really good film, the graphical effects and the way it's filmed looks amazing.

Accurate or not, nobody cares. 300 made in just over 1 day what Alexander took in during its entire theatrical run. I stood in line for over an hour to get into the last show on opening day and I know people who've already seen it multiple times.

Movies are stylized, escapist fiction. If you want reality, watch a documentary.

You're absolutely right, and nobody really does. None of us were actually at the battle of Thermopylae, so none of us know what really happened. The story is a legend.

I know what a movie is. This one is based on a book which is based on a legend. It's as real as a reality television.

NIC, no one is griping about the inaccuracies. I hope you enjoy the movie.

LOL if you want to talk about historical inaccuries in the 300 here are some

    1) Leonidas never met Xerces
    2) There were NO Elephants or Rhinos in this battle
    3) Leonidas' name is pronounced Lay-on-NEE-das emphasis on the NEE
    4) Gorgo (the queen) was not a whore
    5) Xerces was not 7' tall
    6) The battle took place NO WHERE near a cliff

However, the Spartans are pretty buff (Found out the bodies are CGI enhanced) but there has to be something there to enhance!

See, and somebody told me that the 300 guys were working out together for 6 months prior to the actual filming. Imagine someone making up something like that...and in a gay bar on a Saturday night of all places...Hmmmm. What's the world coming to?
