360 degree open trough urinals

I’m pretty sure the old University of Pittsburgh football stadium had one of these back in the late 1970s.

And I’ve been in relatively new construction men’s rooms that have troughs along the wall

Where were the troughs at?

I would like seeing these in Richmond Va.

The only circular apparatus I've seen in a men's bathroom was where several men in a large manufacturing shop can wash their hands. There is a pipe that goes around it that the men step on to activate the water that comes out in a spray to wash their hands. There is a powdered soap dispensers around the circumference to use for hand washing. This device was probably 6-8 feet in diameter. The bathroom also had urinals w/o partitions between them.

Where were the troughs at?

Trying to remember. . . .probably stadiums I've been in. If you think about it, they're a lot more efficient and less expensive. Take piece of sheet metal, press it this way and that, and voila!

I must say I haven't visited any big stadiums in my life. I did visit the Astro Dome one time about 50 years ago. I was pretty drunk that night too. That's the one and only time I've visited a big stadium. I should get out more.

Unless they've done some renovations Wrigley Field in Chicago has a trough in one of their bathrooms still.

When i was younger I remember peeing in a open-style trough urinal in the middle of the bathroom. The guys would come up from any old side and do their business; it was basically a big rectangle. This was in Honolulu, HI in the late 90s.

It's been a long time and I've never seen something like this again. The reason I'm posting is because I'm starting to wonder if these kinds of troughs really exist. Am I crazy or remembering this wrong? Anyone else use one of these before?

The circular troughs are definitely a real thing. I went to grad school at Wayne State in Detroit in the early 90’s. In the older buildings there was a circular trough in the middle of the bathroom. The stalls were on the far side of the bathroom and the sinks were on the wall by the door. They were big enough where at least 10 guys could piss at the same time. I’ve never seen one anywhere else though. Definitely an interesting experience.

I've only seen one circular trough. It was in Cincinnati, a very long time ago.

Slightly different topic. There are at least two bars in the North Beach part of San Francisco that have troughs dating back to the Gold Rush. They run along the bottom of the bar so that the patrons could relieve themselves without moving.

Never seen or heard of a piss trough that runs along the bar. Will see a lot of dicks but do worry about the possible smell, splashed piss and who or what it splashes on. San Francisco, surprised they allowed this unsanitary piss trough.

There are still long trough style urinals at New Era Field here in Buffalo.
