Hey guys, I had my circumcision 8 days ago. Around the day of or after the day of the circumcision I noticed a new mass in my nut sac. I haven't noticed it before. It seems to be attached to my shaft. I'm going to see my urologist on monday. I was wondering if you guys have any insights as to what it is. It is not painful. It feels like a testicle. Is it normal? Here is a picture.

I'm not sure what would be considered a low cut. my 'non-erected' penis is 2.5 inches. the foreskin is now just below the head "coronal rim". Prior to this I had phimosis... I haven't seen the head of my penis prior to 8 days ago. Is an edema bad???? good??? Do I have to get it removed????

Edema is a just fluid collection. Is the scar itself just at the base of the glans or is it further down the shaft?

Edema is usual post-circumcision as your penis has to reroute blood and lymph flow. Usually it goes away on its own. Do watch for fever though as that can indicate infection.

My foreskin is at the base of the glans. Ok, heh.. I hope it's an Edema and it goes away soon. What do you mean by fever? Do you mean a rise in my body temperature, that kind of fever?

I understand the foreskin is at the base of the glans, but is the scar just under the rim? Do you have any inner foreskin left? I ask because when you get a very low cut like that, the edema is likely to occur at the base.

This is a low cut.

A high circumcision places the scar further down the shaft toward the base.

Edema can be treated by taking Benadryl however do ask your doctor before doing that.

I think I'm low cut. I'm having trouble finding information on edema as it relates to adult circumcision. I could be looking in the wrong place, but if it's a 'usual' occurrence shouldn't there be more available information on it?

Rex, I've check out hydrocele it sounds similar to the description of edema, but the diagrams I've seen suggest that it forms around a testicle. Not really like mine...

BTW what do you guys suggest I do? Should I wait until my appointment with the urologist on Monday or should I give him a call tomorrow morning?

justcircumcised, it seems that you have some type of scrotal mass, but it's impossible for us to tell the exact type. You need to be examined by a doctor.

Scrotal masses are fairly common and usually benign. If you're not in pain and don't have a fever, you can wait until you see your urologist on Monday. If it makes you feel any better, I've had a spermatocele most of my life.

Alright, I went to my Urologist last Monday for the post-op visit. He said this "3rd testicle" is really a Hematoma. He said it's "superficial" and that it will be absorbed by the body. To make it go away faster he told me to sit in the hot tub at 102 degrees. He told me it'll go away in 2 weeks. So far it's hasn't been getting any smaller. I'll check back in in a week or so.
