When I maturbate sometimes I stay hard for hours. I can stroke and remain fully hard for 4 hours or more without cumming theres plenty of precum which is great lube.Someone told me its not healty to remain hard that long.All I know is if I continue stroking when i climax its the most intense orgasm i shoot 10 or so thick streams sometimes as far a 3 feet. I don't know if 4 hours is too long but it might be. Here's the premise: During erection, sphincter-type muscles constrict the superior veins at the base of your penis. That party reduces the outflow even though blood going in may increase due to rising pulse and blood pressure. There's still flow going through but is greatly reduced.

If you let down it for just a minute or two then that helps a lot. If it's four hours without any such rest, I'd say you're pushing the limits.

Especially when every ED commercial tells you to see a doctor if you experience an erection for more than 4 hours. I don't know what damage it would do but I would believe them.

Do you actually masturbate for 4 hours straight? I can't concentrate on anything for 4 hours straight and I'd have a hard time finding 4 straight hours when I wasn't busy with something else to do this...I'm impressed.

re: viagra ads with the warning about 4 hour erections. Prior to those pills becoming available, I had never ever heard about 4 hour erections being dangerous. I had heard about priapism which is more or pess a permanent erection being a problem. I *suspect* that this 4 hour business is more of a marketing device invented by the viagra folks to mke people talk, as well as give the idea that viagra may give you "dangerously long erections". And it has worked because the mere mention of "4 hours" bring to mind 4 hour erections and viagra. And there are plenty of jokes about the "4 hours". So their marketing has been quite succesful in getting into the mainstream. In my case, I can edge for many many hours, but during those hours, I will switch from erect to flaccid to erect a number of times. (aka: not a continuous 4 hour erection, but rather staying erect for 4 hours with some flaccid moments in there). I also notice that for extra long foreplay (such as chatting for hours on-line without orgasm), the skin on the penis tends to darken. After final masturbation with orgasm, the penis returns no normal colour by the time I wake up.

Priapism is an involuntary erection lasting for more than four hours, sustained erection during edging is something altogether different. I first heard about it when I was prescribed Trazadone for sleep, as that's a potential side-effect.

I've maintained erections for more than four hours for many years now. There's been no damage to my penis at all.
