Rassmussen has yet to get it right for CA elections or anything else of importance, Vinyl boy. the fact of the matter is, like it or not, Obama is resurgent and the right wing is deflating. Palin's approval rating of 30% is just one more example of why Americans are turning away from the right wingers and back to Obama. Only one third want health care repealed; there is no where for the GOP to go except to listen to Obama's state of the union address next week, where he will make them look like the fat faced fools they are.

Doesn't do a damn thing?
1. Ordered all federal agencies to undertake a study and make recommendations for ways to cut spending same as every President
2. Ordered a review of all federal operations to identify and cut wasteful spending and practices same as every President

3. Instituted enforcement for equal pay for women A joke. Equal pay has been law for a while and is adhered to at times, many times becauuse a law suit is filed. There will still be thousands of women that won't get equal pay or advancement, the glass ceiling has cracks, it isn't fully shattered.
4. Beginning the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq Bush started it, and the truuth here is obama has merely shifted them to Afghaasan and Pakistan.
5. Families of fallen soldiers have expenses covered to be on hand when the body arrives at Dover AFB Always has been there if a famiily made the request.
6 Ended media blackout on war casualties; reporting full information
7. Ended media blackout on covering the return of fallen soldiers to Dover AFB; the media is now permitted to do so pending adherence to respectful rules and approval of fallen soldier’s family
8. The White House and federal government are respecting the Freedom of Information Act Sure they are, when it suits them.
9. Instructed all federal agencies to promote openness and transparency as much as possible While often failing to do so himself.
17. States are permitted to enact federal fuel efficiency standards above federal standards Um, weren't they always?
18. Increased infrastructure spending (roads, bridges, power plants) after years of neglect
19. Funds for high-speed, broadband Internet access to K-12 schools
20. New funds for school construction
21 The prison at Guantanamo Bay is being phased out and we just ship them to that max.securiity place in Illinois. He hasn't depleted the prisoner population from there.
22. US Auto industry rescue plan Which was iniitiated under Bush
26. US financial and banking rescue plan Initiated under Bush, AIG was taken in 2008 as was Citigroup
51. Lower drug costs for seniors A way to feel better that they are being kept at the same paltry sum in Social Security payments 3 yrs. running. meanwhile all other costs are rising..
63. Ordered a review of hurricane and natural disaster preparedness
64. Established a National Performance Officer charged with saving the federal government money and making federal operations more efficient
65. Students struggling to make college loan payments can have their loans refinanced, refinancing was in existance when I was in school and ever siince. A lender wou;d rather negotiate and refinance at with new terms than risk getting nothing.
66. Improving benefits for veterans, you must be talking about the facillities closed under his watch, which means some Vets now must travel several hrs. to reach a facility.
76. Appointment of first Latina to the Supreme Court So? Bush had the 1st Hispanc AG.
77. Authorized construction/opening of additional health centers to care for veterans After closing several (this was an earlier listiing anyway.)
81. Deployed additional troops to Afghanistan which nullified the withdrawl from Iraq that you praise him for

84. Returned money authorized for refurbishment of White House offices and private living quarters This is covered in the next listing
85. Paid for redecoration of White House living quarters out of his own pockett And that helps the country in what way?
86. Held first Seder in White House Let's not forget tjhe 1st Beer Party wth Skippy Gates and the Massachusetts cop.
87. Attempting to reform the nation’s healthcare system which is the most expensive in the world yet leaves almost 50 million without health insurance and millions more under insured
88. Has put the ball in play for comprehensive immigration reform
89. Has announced his intention to push for energy reform
90. Has announced his intention to push for education reform
Oh, and he built a swing set for the girls outside the Oval Office. Did he now? All by himself? Who paid for materials?
Did I mention he passed health care reform ? Passed? That was the 2 Houses, he merely signed it. & Mentioned as Item #87/

Several items that you listed were repeated, a few were items which began under his predecessor. He's not the Saint that you seem to want to show him as. He's made some strides and failed at other times (The BP spill and his slow response is but 1 example..

All Presidents have ups and downs, Obama is half way through and there's still a mess. I expected and hoped for a better performancce by him. (still a better deal than we'd have had under the McCain/Crazy Lady)

ARegarding his performance, polls change dail and as a sitting Pres. the #s are damn fine!

as hoss corrected you. i see more that need corrected...let me go to *51....I'm a veteran and also disabled. this will bill to freeze ss and disability checks will put millions of old and disabled people behind with the chance of never getting ahead again, only to fall so far behind with inflation.

i see right in this area for elderly people having to sell out and many with no place to go. Obama doesn't give a damn about the elderly or disabled. it's outright criminal what he/they did. throw us out in the desert to die? they don't give jobs to old people and the disabled. but he can spend millions on vacation.

But even with all of the "corrections", the list still illustrates that Obama is trying to "do something". This continued, ignorant banter from his opposition about how he's doing "nothing" is really tired.

Actually HOW could Obama lose in 2012 with the TRAIN WRECK of GOP hopefuls waiting in the wings?

A three-way pileup atop 2012 GOP presidential race

Former Govs. Mike Huckabee (Ark.), Sarah Palin (Alaska) and Mitt Romney (Mass.) make up the top tier of the 2012 Republican presidential field, according to a new poll from the Washington Post and ABC News.

Huckabee took 21 percent of the vote while Palin received 19 percent and Romney 17 percent among Republicans and GOP-leaning independents. No other potential candidate made it into double digits, although former House Speaker Newt Gingrich received 9 percent and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took 8 percent. The rest of the field received 3 percent or less support.

^ I wouldn't get too comfy about 2012. But given the nutcases who succeeded in gaining office this November past, one can reasonably expect every far right loon north of the Equator to make a bid for something next election.

thank you Hoss, Sargon and bc for making a good case for my original post. Those who say Obama has done nothing are either in a coma or dead. Those who fear the GOP opponents have not checked their numbers or their colossal idiocy on display. and those who think 2012 is in the bag for Obama just need to look over their shoulders at the NUTCASES who did win this year.
i cant wait for the state of the nation address. Organizing for America is having viewing parties to celebrate Obama's speech around the nation. i will be attending the party in Santa Cruz, CA.

Romney is the only one potentially "electable" out of that bunch. Huckabee only polls that high because of Christian conservatives, and Palin is toast as far as the Republican establishment's concerned. More likely than not, the top of the ticket will be someone without their name recognition who's not on the public radar yet. I'm surprised I haven't seen Christine Todd Whitman or even Kay Bailey Hutchison on any lists of potentials. I still say Marco Rubio has a better than 50/50 chance of being the VP candidate, regardless of who's at the top.

The real battle's going to be in the Senate. With the number of incumbent Democrat seats up for grabs, the numbers don't look good for the Dems, and even long serving Reps will be in trouble with challenges from Teabagger types. Barring unforseen events or a miracle, look for the Senate to shift way right in 2012. :frown1:
I'd say there's a better than 50/50 chance there'll be 3rd party challenge from a Teabag or another right-wing presidential ticket as well, which would be awesome if it rips the Repugnicants apart. Whatever happens, 2012 will be a wild ride. Hang onto your hats.

thank you Hoss, Sargon and bc for making a good case for my original post. Those who say Obama has done nothing are either in a coma or dead. . . .
erm . . . surely you meant to give credit to Indy [above all] for his impressive list of Obama's accomplishments, rather than Hoss, who merely quoted and deconstructed it?

Tim Pawlenty's name has also been tossed around as of late as a potential GOP presidential candidate. Again, not sure who will become the 2012 nomination but after the last two years we know who wouldn't stand a chance in hell.

polls are more accurate than they used to be, but i would say there at about 30% of what the people really feel. the lame duck session was just that ''lame''....see what they will be now with him on the campaign trail again and again and again and again.

How did you come up with that 30%? Did you take a poll?

the lame duck session was just that ''lame''....
It was arguably the most productive lame duck session in history. Furthermore, Obama's first two years were legislatively more productive than any period since the Johnson administration.

I usually don't even watch the SotU Address, yet my new 55" TV and oversized family room got me volunteered by this girl I'm fucking to host an OFA gathering ... Here's to hoping that everyone she has invited is also a hot, college aged nympho.

well, talltpaguy, isnt it time you started watching the SOTU address? you ARE an adult,, but we would never know it based on your entry above.
you might even enjoy it. and yes, the company you are with does make a difference. But can you at least hold off on grabbing the nymphos until he finishes speaking?
Obama is a hot guy for his age (49), and it IS possible the ladies in the room will find him attractive. many do. anyway, good for you and good for our nation.

and yes ,Maxcok, only Romney is electable, but he is NOT his father, George Romney, the former head of American motors and govenor of Michigan. a true progressive
Republican, his son is not anything like him. more is the pity.if Romney had been the Republican nominee in 1968, instead of Richard Nixon, the history of the US would have been drastically changed, and we would have exited the vietnam war much sooner.
