another ploy at placing the issue on the sideburner i feel
like Aussie/USA can wait for another years quota before the next few are taken/ if any?
get off your arse and do something positive like the NGOs you devils
run out of ideas and persecuting NGOs now?

In an email, the German organization Sea Watch called the accusations part of a "campaign of defamation."
"We don't want to let ourselves get turned into a plaything for European interior and foreign ministers, whose statements repeatedly make for headlines about ocean rescues and human traffickers," Sea Watch spokeswoman Theresa Leisgang wrote. "More NGO boats means fewer dead - that's all there is to it."

Doctors Without Borders also said in a statement that there wasn't "a shred of evidence" supporting de Maiziere and Sobotka's claims.

Germany and Austria's interior ministers have accused private initiatives to save refugees in the Mediterranean of intentionally working with people smugglers. The accusation has sparked outrage and may not even be true.

The refugees are mostly Fulanis, both an ethnic and a linguistic group (Fula dialects). If the Fulanis speak another language at all it is likely to be Hausa. Only a very few will speak English. In terms of making a new home they really do need another Fula speaking area. This is provided by Cameroon. Cameroon is best placed to help them. Cameroon is also the nearest location that is safe, facilitating return.

I suggest it is right that the Fulani should be helped in Cameroon, and that resettlement elsewhere would be wrong. The West should support Cameroon in this (as the UK does). Probably more help is needed.

Australia accused of breaking promises over US refugee deal
The UN's refugee agency accuses Australia of breaching their trust over the US refugee deal, saying the Federal Government reneged on its agreement to settle refugees with close family ties in Australia.

What will happen to refugees not resettled in the US?

Somehow I knew a lot of guys speaking Fula. Not from Cameroon or Nigeria, but anyaway. Next to French, nearly all of them speak English as well. Not a clear Oxford English, it's creole English. Very simple, but the language definitely wouldn't be a problem for them.

I'm making no claim for expertise in the languages of the area. I'm aware that many Fulanis from Cameroon speak Cameroon English Creole (the west of Cameroon mostly has English (not Frenc) as the European language). The key issue here is the language ability of Fulanis from Nigeria. I'm inclined to think most have little English.

The point remains that Cameroon is the linguistic and cultural environment closest to their home, and the concept of refugees is that they want to return home, so proximity helps.

MIGRATION as compared to

New migration in Europe (1/2) | DW Documentary

Published on Jul 28, 2017
Mass migration to cities is a modern phenomenon. Why does it work well in some European cities and fail miserably in others? We take a look.

Flight, immigration, the move from rural to urban areas and other forms of the 'new migration' confront us with great challenges. But internationally acclaimed migration expert Doug Saunders is optimistic. His history of migration in Europe shows that it can bring great opportunities for everyone. We join him on a trip to Istanbul, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin.

'Arrival City' is the term migration expert Doug Saunders uses for the title of his book: a place where migrants first settle in search of a better future for their children. To find out how integration works, and why it fails so miserably in some places, Saunders and director Jörg Daniel Hissen visited Istanbul, London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. Flight, immigration, the move from rural to urban areas and other forms of the "new Migration" are immense challenges to modern societies. Cultural differences, language problems and housing are just a few of the hurdles that the newcomers have to contend with in the "arrival cities." These are often parts of towns that make the headlines as problem districts, and the residents are often hostile to outsiders. But Doug Saunders is optimistic. His research on migration in Europe shows that immigration is an opportunity for migrants and native populations alike as long as the migrants are provided with conditions that allow them to play an active role. Civil rights, educational opportunities and social mobility are important factors in successful integration. If the "arrival cities" allow the incomers to set up small businesses and improve their circumstances, at least for the second generation, they often develop into hip neighborhoods and popular residential areas for the middle class. This documentary connects the dots between the personal stories of individual migrants and the town planning and political initiatives that are needed if the arrival regions are to benefit from migration.

Germany: Asylum applicants resort to court appeals

early half of all asylum applicants rejected by Germany then take their cases before German courts. The BAMF refugee agency says 47 percent of its 119,000 negative decisions made so far this year went to appeal.

The Nuremburg-based Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) added that in the first three months of this year 23.9 percent of rejected asylum seekers had convinced courts they were entitled to refuge.

yep bound to come eventually drift
how they enforce that is the major
excuse its the boat smugglers thats the problem gets pretty boring
esp when they tend to play a secondary role
dont see why individual Countries are not held totally responsible for enforcing the policing of same..

New I can see a policy coming whereby refugees will have to stay in their own continent.

interesting part. I always thought that french was the main language in central and western africa.

by far, I remember that english was the ugliest language I had to learn in school

I want to learn russian, german more than english.
