I think the IRS should have until April 15th to get the checks out to the taxpayers. No exceptions.

Don't spend your rebate just yet

The way I read it was that single could get up to $600 back, couples $1200, it didn't say what the criteria was for it though. Yes, it is amazing what can happen when they really want it to. I still don't understand why we can't have a flat tax other than the rich not wanting to pay their fair share.

You beat me to the punch posting about this.

This pisses me off royally! :headache: This is the same tactic King George used to win people over when he first got into office. Nobody remembers that Clinton left a surplus, all they remember is that they got an extra $300, 6 months after he got into office.

More importantly where the hell is all this money coming from?! With all the money Washington keeps approving to fund this pointless war and the fact our healthcare and public education systems are failing miserably, we cannot afford this!

Come on people don't be so easily led! This is just a bribe, a tactic so that you will vote Republican in November and run this country completely into the ground instead of just halfway. :12:

Well they said by May or June we should get a check. Now if someone didnt pay their taxes or didnt work they are ASSED OUT. This will happen because it is an election year and neither party will vote against this.

Actually, NJ, I'll have to resepctfully disagree with you on this point. This won't get people to vote Republican at all. I doubt it will cause anyone to vote for a particular party at all. Remember, this had to have bi-partisan support to pass. So the Democratic led Congress had just as much to do with this passing as the President did.

Can i be a dreamer for a moment and say i wish we elect our presidents for only one term. Then they will be forced to have more of an interest in our well being.

I've thought about this many times. If people would just vote out the incumbents every election, we could make our own term limits. This is usually how I vote, including local elections. I vote for who ever runs against the current office holder. There are, of course, exceptions...

I'll put it towards building my bunker for when the Chinese come to collect on the Huge U.S. Debt that is owed, Since the President and Vice President will be living out of the country on all that land they just bought...and Halliburton building it all for them, I'll need to protect myself well since there won't be any governmental support here.....
