these are the days of our lives....

There are many distinctive voices here at LPSG.

njqt, for instance -- I mean, Principessa! -- and those iconic Disaster Threads

Man Fatally Stabs Sister, Decapitates 5-Year-Old On Birthday

Wild Dog Pack Kills Georgia Couple

-----

the lovely word excursions and philosophical extrapolations of jason_els:

Tchaikovsky's Dance Arab aka Coffee from The Nutcracker. It makes me think of minarets and moukarnis, ladies in veils, and all that romantic exotica which was once associated with Arabia... the delicacy, the midnight blue, and the perfumed dreams of half-mooned rooftops stays well-preserved in the mind. The recording is too low and not good but it's correct and that's enough.

(SO very jason_els!)

-----

There is Trinity in the Politics forum: Obama sealing documents and playing the legal game only postpones the verification of his eligibility!

The prankish shenanegans of HickBoy: Now you can REALLY all go fuck yourselves.

-----

There are the distinctive threads

Putting your own dick in your ass

My friends father stole my anal virginity

-----

But no voice is more dictinctive than that blue that suddenly appears on the horizon...

Baby, I love you more than life itself

those blue, blue, blue Book Antiqua pensées :

I'm also bringing a pound of this wonderful black truffle-stuffed brie that I can only find at Garden of Eden

from Nick8.

Happy 8,000 Posts, Nick8! Yes, these are the days of our lives.....

Oh, good lord, Will. I nearly fell asleep trying to figure out where you were going with this.

Thanks for the Hallmark Card, though. I can always count on you.

xx

But am I forever to be devolved to a lump of--admittedly lovely--lump of cheese?!

Willtom, you're insane. You hate these threads and so you start one? It must be insanity... or love.

And many accolades to Nick8 on his 8,000!

I'm sorry. I went a bit overboard with this busy, meandering thread.

On some level I do hate these LPSG threads, jason, and I wonder why 3 guys as bright and creative as Nick8 and jason_els and myself slum precious time and waste away here.

But, that snippet of prose from your "Nutcracker" post, jason... I truly love when you fling your passion and your knowledge together like this. I was not mocking you in the least with that. You do this frequently. You've done it in the medieval and renaissance art threads, too (you did it with your Chartres comment: "Chartres is irreplaceable and it isn't because it couldn't be rebuilt, it's because the method used to create the glass is lost. We can't make the windows even if we wanted to. It's been tried, but so far nobody's succeeded") -- and I suddenly I don't feel like I'm wasting time here anymore.

And, Nick8, I love your ability to sum up a thread or comment in a line or two of pithy retort. And you generally do it without meanness, and with a certain grace (yes, I believe I've driven the cheese remark into the ground. I will move on!) .

I know you weren't mocking me. I'm cool with you. Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy your posts as well.

Willtom, you're insane. You hate these threads and so you start one? It must be insanity... or love.

It's a great deal of love. Willtom is a lovebunny although he'd never cop to it.

Hey Nick, congrats on 8,000.

Thanks, honey.

You did, indeed. And I will take the compliment. It means a lot coming from you.

Congrats to the Nickster.

You were my first love. Nuff said.
