I am with you on that Mr. Snakey! The second plane hitting the tower is so chilling and that is the one image that constantly plays over and over in my head when I think about this day. It still has the same effect on me to this day as it did 10 yrs ago. Those emotions are from disbelief, rage and sadness. Brings tears to my eyes. :unitedstates:

9/11 was terrible and definitely formative in my life, but to some degree, I find it a little odd that we emphasize it so much. People die, oftentimes unjustly and suddenly, all of the time -- even within our own country. It's certainly a reminder of human vulnerability, but 9/11 victims are only a tiny fraction of sudden, unexpected deaths in 2001, even.

I know the analogy to Pearl Harbor doesn't quite work (the people who that impacted directly are mostly dead), but I'm just saying, I'm not sure there's a responsibility to mourn this specific event above all others. Although certainly I have no problem with reflection.

I took my kids to the State Fair being held in our city....Trying to look past what today is really about...Yeah we had a great time for a few hours doing family stuff....getting home my kids turn on the TV not really knowing what 9/11 is all about being one was 9 months old and the other 3.....We talked about it last night ( watching TV specials and I explaining ) .....anyhow ! .... so they turn the tele on and instead of watching kids shows , they chose to watch more Special programs about 9/11 then n now ...and here I am sitting in front of my laptop in LPSG ( re reading post here ) thinking about how fucking selfish I am to try to look past and not take a few moments thanking God and everyone who's served and protected Us from past present and future harm ( tears ) .

so to those members in LPSG who are either Military or ( FUCK ! I cant think of the word ) but all those ppl * Firemen Police Hospital Employees and anyone whos Serves n protect ...

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM MY HEART MEN and LADIES of LPSG

Civil Servants ? is that what I was looking for ?
