Hey, I'm not a federal Special Prosecutor. I don't have that kind of money.

You get a Romeo y Julieta and a shot of Fighting Cock bourbon. I can afford that.

Damn those lower GS scales. Good thing I can tolerate Romeo and Julietas. Next time I expect a Cohiba at least.

My friend from Edinburgh is coming to visit around the first of May. Perhaps I can convince him to smuggle in some Cubans. Would that make you happy? Do they even sell Cubans in Scotland?

Unless of course their job was to find and review porn sites. In which case they might be getting fired for doing more stroking than clicking.

*raises hand* Um - it is sometimes - but I work from home :biggrin1:

'Can I laminate that for you?'

Best chat up line EVER! I'm nicking that one :biggrin1:

Oh - and no - I'm not in the least surprised, regarding the OP - I'm slightly curious as to why it took a year...

:biggrin1:Investigators were too busy auditing the 4 other current corruption scandals in the DC city government to bother with the lesser crime of porn surfing at work.

Seriously. The District of Columbia has some major problems, and usually several embezzlement rings are being investigated at any given time. The most recent one in the news was the workers in the office that handles property tax. This little group was submitting tax rebate forms for fictitious properties, to their own office, issuing checks, and living high on the embezzled monies.

And people wonder why DC doesn't have the money to fix broken windows and exposed insulation in the public school buildings. The little money that exists is being embezzled, and the ones responsible for doing stuff are too busy surfing porn to do government business.

i cannot believe that 9 people can open links to 20,000 porn sites in 1 year!! That is incredible! And they are pissed they got fired...! I know we all do shit we shouldn't at work but good God! i would never ever open porn at work!!! that's like 10 sites per person per day...why? did they think they wouldn't get caught?

am i the only one shocked?
Well, Use a company PC, and sooner or later it's gonna lead a trail right back to you, & subsequently get you canned-period.
And their claim of being pissed because they got canned isn't justified- they used a work pc, no more no less.

While that may be against policy, if the cell phone bill is paid for by the employee and not a cell phone provided by the employer it does make a major difference especially if is off the clock.

Many employers don't mind the employees checking personal e-mail during coffee breaks and at lunch and using the company's computer doing so. But they get "their panties in a wad" when an employee making $15 an hour spends 30 minutes of it on personal business. Abd they have every right to do so.

It isn't the porn, it is doing persoal business or recreation on government time (clocked in and being paid.)
