Photographic skills! PEOPLE! I understand now!

The thing that always made me confused why I like the pics of some of you guys and some not! And size is not the issue here at all as it turns out!

It's also not how many photos one has or anything, you can have the biggest dick in the world, but you might still look real lame on a photograph and trust me, that does count!

Videos are a different thing there, they require some skills too, but there it's harder to mess up.
You can have both a bad photo camera and a bad video camera
You can both take an uninteresting photo and a bad boring video

BUT after those 2 things you can hardly mess up a video. You see a guy play with his dick or do other stuff... with someone else's dick... or whatever! You see it, you like it or not. You see it move and act, it's just great! But on a photo there is no motion, so you have to show it in a great perspective.

It's like they say, photographic requires skills and talent. But here on LPSG I notice a lot of people who just mess it up. And do it all wrong!
"Dude, like... ever heard of perspective?"
"Did you make the photo so dark because you are not really 8 inches long?"
"It's a penis, not a banana!"

So I thought I'd make a thread to ask if I'm the only person around to think like that.

My Opinion: So far the only person I saw to have both skills at photography and a big dick is 11inmonster. He is big and has nice skills, hows how to show it, he actually manages to make me excited just by looking at his flaccid penis... (which doesn't always work due to my straight-ness).
Shame he removed his best photos.
He also made a few videos for xtube, but I must say that they are boring, guess it's hard to have a big penis, photographic skills AND video skills, but still awesome

So what are your opinions on this subject?

Oh by the way, some people think I got photographic skills, which might be the only reason people like my gallery, for comments on MY penis go to this thread

Some people arent concerned about the quality of the photo they take. Some people use webcams and cell phones which aren't the best but get the job done. We're not here to critique someones photography skills - we're not claiming to be professional photographers.

I dont mind 99% of the photos on this site. The only issue I sometimes have is the level of lighting, which can range from way to much to way to little! I work within the video production and photography industry and I know a good shot when I see one, but on this site that goes out the window but thats not the main purpose.

Also, your pix are fine - when you said you had photographic skills I was expecting something a lot more! Finally, I love the shameless plug for people to visit your gallery and comment on your cock!

I guess your right, but it'd be nice if some people would put some effort into their photos, sometimes I really think
"Dude, with a penis like that you can achieve far more"

OH ehhh yeah, I overdid it, I'm no professionalist, sorry

It's not a plug! I made this thread entirely for the purpose of discussion and information! I had no intentions of making people stare at my penis!
But it's nice that regardless of it not being a plug, it works as one, eh? :biggrin1:

I'm not 100% sure about this but for a lot of people, taking photos of their penis for people online to look at, isn't a massive priority in their life.

I don't think most people consciously think about the quality of the photo or photography skills involved. However I do think their opinion of the photo is influenced by factors they're unaware of. Composition is probably one of the main things.

Or you can subscribe to the following policy, like alot of members here do: if you cant take a good pic of yourself, just steal one from someone else and say its YOU !!!!

LPSG--

My opinions are many but I want to tell you honestly: IT IS DIFFICULT TO BE ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT PUTTING UP PICS OF MYSELF ON THIS SITE. I think that you guys do not truly understand how hard it is for some.

Frankly, I know that I am not some friggin' porn star. I don't have any help here or any enterprising boyfriends to help photograph me in a better light and in better places. And the comments (and sometimes lack of comments) made me feel weird. Even the ratio of views to actual comments were weird. I remember getting 200 views on a picture and I would get like one or two nice comments from some of my really nice friends out there. Which I did appreciate the comments. I really did. I was thinking like "Why are all of these "peeps" who were looking at my gallery and not writing anything?" I started thinking like DAMN was I scaring peeps? (I remember when I didn't EVEN have a digital camera. And peeps were asking me for pics. And now I give them pics and no to little comments.)

And if the answer was that I was unattractive...I can honestly say that I never promised any of you beyotches Matthew McConaughey or Gabriel Aubry. I gave you who I truly looked like...me. <==This statement is not one out of anger. Because I am not angry. I am happy and full of joie de vivre expressing this. And this statement is not one of anger, also===>I can't be Matthew McConaughey or Gabriel Aubry. I am an ordinary guy with an extraordinary sense of who he is. I am just in the body of a gay black man...that is all. Besides. I am not a porn star. I don't like the way my dick looks. But it is the size I claim it to be: 7" X 7" I could've lied and said it was bigger like 9"X 6". But I am not a fabricator on serious matters.

I also don't feel it is natural holding a hard penis and taking my own pic. I start thinking about kinda angle is that? That is not acceptable. I start judging the picture and I lose my hard on in the process. It isn't sexy.

I also have a camcorder. I don't feel sexy jerking off in front of a camera. (A fact that INVISIBLEMAN could never be a porn star. But watching it...that is different. Doing porn...not sexy for me.)

Damn, very good point there.
I myself have problems understanding the weird comments and... photographing is hard, I dont upload anything new because I want them to be of great quality and I only get a chance to do that a few times a year!
So I obviously notice that it's a pain!

I just made this thread to ask if people think that it plays a role, that if they see someone made a good quality, then they might like it regardless of the penis not being huge.

One thing about inexpensive digital cameras is they tend to exaggerate the red tones in an image. I suspect this is why, in so many photos guys take of their cocks, they look like they've been masturbating for the last 5 days straight.

You can easily correct this in photoshop by lowering the saturation of the red tones.

You have to try a lot of views to get a good picture, but it is difficult because you can like a pic, post it here and then nobody watch it. You have to be creative and read the comments of people. Also look at your most "succesfull" pictures, the ones with the most views, because that are the kin of pics people like of you. It's hard to find the good picture. At the beginning I was just posting pics of my dick, but realised soon that that wasn't a good idea. Now I think before I post, I even discuss with someone for new ideas.
But don't always hope on that. One of my recent pics (mirror mirror ...) is now "a succes" but the funny thing is that I posted that same pic before, but people didn't like it then... So you'll never know.
