There needs to be a total restructering of not only health care but how people take care of themselves. People in the USA have one of the most unhealthy lifestyles in the world. Look at how much tobacco, alcohol, sugar, and fat they consume. People do what they want, and blame someone else for it. I recently saw on a broadcast that $4.4 billion a year is spent in the USA on weight loss surgery. It's insane. Eat healthy, and get off your fat arse. It is not the fault of the general public if you don't take care of yourself. Why should they foot the bill for your own irresponsible behavior?

I agree that the system needs to be revamped but the government has yet to create a single program that wasn't full of stupid regulations and roadblocks. The current bill is so large members of congress don't even know what they are voting about. Also, Nebraska was exempted from the cost that is going to be passed to the states. It stands a good chance of being over-turned in the court system.
Are you aware that the tax increases begin almost immediately but most of the care provisions don't take effect until 2013 and 2014?

Somewhere between the two, those of us (with a working brain) have got to make logical choices on issues like privacy vs. national security; free enterprise of businesses vs. necessary regulations to protect citizens, our environment, our planet; definitions of individual "freedoms" vs. protections from discrimination; fiscal responsibility vs. what's worth spending for; "I got mine, you get yours" vs. having a fuckin bit of compassion for those among us who can't... and so forth.
