- That twinge in your intestines
who, as a model practitioner of his arts, was extremely devoted to his master, found himself faced with a dilemma. A lord from a neighboring estate had been having clandestine rendevous with the master's wife, which was bad enough. But the neighbor, upon being caught with the cheating spouse and confronted by the cuckolded husband, had drawn his sword and killed the master.
It is the duty of any samurai to avenge his master, and this samurai was doubly bound -- not only had the rogue stolen the master's wife, but had taken his life as well. The hero resolved to kill the rogue and his late master's widow.
With great stealth and skill he entered the rogue's bedchamber and found the master's widow there with him, as he knew he would. He took great pains to quietly draw his sword and drew back to deliver a fatal stroke to both necks. At the very last instant, the rogue awake and spat in the samurai's face.
The samurai sheathed his sword and silently exited the brigand's house.
