A cure for cancer... at a price

The question is about to what extremes would one go to cure a horrible disease. What lines would a person cross.

I am a big believer in body autonomy. Drastically changing someone's body without the consent of the person being changed is one of the most horrible things someone can do in my opinion. I wanted to see if people would be willing to go to that extreme in order to give an undeniable good to the rest of humanity. I think this has a lot of relevance to reality. Have you ever heard of Henrietta Lacks? She was a woman whose cells have been cultivated for decades, without her consent. This is a clear violation of her bodily autonomy, but this violation has led to a number of medical breakthroughs including the polio vaccine. Does the fact that probably millions of lives have been saved by violating her rights make that violation morally correct? Does it taint the lives saved? These are important questions that I was trying to use this thread to ask. I used shrinking people's dicks in order to make the situation easier to understand and have a little fun with the question.

Firstly when the cells were taken from Lacks in 1951, there was no established protocol for informing patients or getting consent for research of cell or tissue specimens.

Second . I don't believe you . Thinking you can pull up genomes research that benefited the whole world would give you reason to start a thread with such a hideous question. I'll tell you a personal story now, one i don't tell many people, but since is an anonomous site (if this wasn't anonomous i come over and smak you in the face)
I developed bladder cancer. My symtoms started in 2002 . I dealt with my symtoms for a year or so, i was originally told i had a UTI so i went with it . In 2004 through an Ultrasound they found a mass on my bladder, it was cancer . I thought i was way to young for this to be happening . They said we can go in through my penis and scrap it out, so they thought. They ended up dissecting a tumour the size of a tangerine, something they didn't see from an Ultrasound. After numerous rounds of Chemotherapy i had a surgery where they not only removed my bladder they took my Prostate with it . Now i have a large penis that doesn't function like it used to . I'm not happy about that but I'm alive . I spent 2 and a half years because of major complications related to the surgery. That when i fiund this site, sitting on a nursing home computer look for a big dick to look at that was in 2006 . I not only found big dicks i found forums where i could ask for advice or give advice . I found anonymous friends who made my day better . You have turned this forum into a joke . At first i thought you were a bit goofy or funny but as time has gone by you started to become annoying and a nuisance like others on here have also said .
I have to forgive you . We all make mistakes.. If you are truly sorry maybe you need to take your brand of humor to a more appropriate forum like i suggested in an earlier post or find a site that enjoys small dick humor. It's about time you leave us alone . You have hurt alot of people .

I find it understandable but also a little bit disturbing that there are actually people voting "yes".
It's one thing to be willing to drastically alter your own body as a sacrifice. However making such a decision that will affect the daily lives of billions of people without having their consent is on a completely different level.

I mean, it isn't like cancer affects billions (those afflicted and their loved ones) of people without their consent... It isn't like people die or anything, right? Oh wait.

If you are sorry for upsetting people with this thread, you need to accept the fact that you have been upsetting people here for years. Stop the small dick hate rhetoric. Accept the fact that people are all different, and that everyone has a right to happiness. It doesn't begin and end with a big dick. We all get it, a small penis can cause emotional pain. There's a difference between a single individual making these kind of decisions and something like fate deciding for you (although cancer can be a consequence of individual lifestyle choices as well so it's also dependent on one's own behavior).

I get that you live in a fucking bubble, but really....never visited a sick friend or relative? Never watched a strong person whither to nothing, fighting for every fucking day? Never hugged a grieving spouse after...or before their loved one's death? Never seen a news report showing THOUSANDS walking for a cure a few times a year...and considered how hard this disease hits?

If I had to do things over again I would choose a less charged illness.
