If there was a cure for homosexuality would you want to "be cured"?

I was talking with some friends last night and one of them brought up the question that if there was a cure for homosexuality (such as a pill or similar) would I want in.

I told them that I wouldn't want to "be cured" as I personally feel that there's nothing wrong with me (somewhat quoting Storm from X-Men 3...geek)! On top of this I am proud of who I am and even if there was some sort of tablet or procedure available, it wouldn't be something I would be interested in.

What about you?

Sorry guys but the cure is around the corner, I don't like it, but it's called the designer baby. This has already occurred once that I know of. The article I read talked about not just choosing sex but all physical genetic traits. Soon people will choose sex, hair, eye, facial structure, genital size, and a host of other traits. I'm sure that deeper set things li8ke sexual preference will only take another five ore ten years. What a world, we fuck up most of what we mess with. It never fails to amaze me the number of brilliant scientists with no ability to look down the road and see if their inventions are helpful to humanity.:frown1:

Hmmm, that's a tough one. While I have no realms against being gay, and I find men attractive, it may be easier on me if I was just straight, and I wouldn't feel like I stood out... make sense?

But, no, I'd probably not take the cure - if it's ever going to be offered.

I try to be an honest person and do the right thing as much as possible (being human I sometimes don't succeed). Life would be easier on me if I had less integrity and didn't stick to my principles as much. (Definition of integrity being -- doing the right thing even if it is to your detriment).

But I would not choose to have less integrity to make my life easier. And no, I would not choose to miss out on the crowning masterpiece of God's creation that is male beauty, just to make my life easier. That would be a very poor trade-off, IMHO.

How can you cure something that's NATURAL? God doesn't make any junk!!!!!

Then where did Republicans come from?

This is an old idea and was an old thread and it makes the rounds from time to time.

Basicly, if you are gay, and were "cured" it would mean all of your experiences would be in doubt. Your past knowledge about people would not hold. You wouldn't be the same.
