Can we talk about how bad and yet good pre-condom movies were? Specifically I'm talking about FS video "pacs" where several scenes - usually one having nothing to do with another - featured good looking guys just having hot man sex.

One of my first (if not THE first) for me was FS "Hayride". My favorite scenes were #3 (starts at 29:35) and #4 (The Lifeguard) starring Gordon Grant starting at 38:20.

Yes, the editing is awful and the overdubbed sound is poor, but watch it for what it is. Sex between men when a condom would have been laughed at.

Back in 1980s in USA, how did you get hold of this video?

In the UK home video players were certainly around, though this was the time of the Betamax/VHS format war. Most use of video was recording television programmes to watch at a different time. Films were available on video, but were expensive and I don't think most people were buying them. There were legal restrictions. In 1991 a video was produced called "The Lovers Guide" which included an erect penis, and this was seen as a major development. The film set out to be sex education, which was how it got round the restrictions.

In 1980s UK it was very difficult to get hold of a straight sex video (which probably meant an erotic video with some hardcore moments). I don't think something like the video you link would have been easily available. Maybe some sleazy club somewhere would have it, probably imported via Sweden, and viewed by members in an expensive screening.

The internet really has changed the world.

In the Netherlands you could rent VHS and later DVD porn. Just in the same stores where mainstream films and blockbusters could be rented. There was always a part with porn, even extreme or bizarre porn. No problem. It was legal for 16 and older. Of course all VHS and DVD was copied.

In the early 80’s it was 8mm films. I bought a projector and used to watch them at night in my bedroom after my parents went to bed.
