I just woke up today with a poem in mind, and felt like posting it .. i searched for a poetry thread and didn't find one though there were a number of beautiful poems on this site..I don't claim to be a poet yet sometimes poems can be a way of expressing your emotions even when you don't seem to understand them yourself. Therefore i decided to make a thread for poems! short, long, funny, sad, quirky, mad and anything else you want it to be, post it here.Doesn't have to be original either, just post any poem that seems profound to yourself. No judgments of others thoughts please other then in a positive manner.

People

People come, people go.
People tell other people,
yes and no.

They make you burn,
make you yearn
They make you despise,
and criticize.

Some people seem magnificent,
some insignificant
Though all that differentiates people,
are one another's eyes

I'm sick of people,
their stories and lies.
But where do i go from here?
Who else is there to hear?

Oh I do need people,
and I think people need me.
For without people to know and see,
To whom do i pour the love in me.

What do i know about people,
but what people tell me.
And the little there is of people,
that is in me.

When I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain,
Before high-piled books,in charactery,
Hold like rich garners the full ripen'd grain;
When I behold,upon the night's starr'd face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And think I may never live to trace
Their shadows,with the magic hand of chance;
And when I feel, fair creature of an hour,
That I shall never look upon thee more,
Never have relish in the fairy power
Of unreflecting love;then on the shore
Of the wide world I stand alone, and think
'Till love and fame to nothingness do sink.

Very nice guys, anyone can be a poet. A poet is not an occupation, its something we are all capable of. Some people can rhyme well, others like to write without rhyming, as long as it is original and your thoughts, they are unique for us to read and think about. I love poetry.

Live and Let Live

Tell me this, tell me that,
Tell me how to wear my hat.

Come over here, go over there,
Don't ask me the hell where.

Sit straight, speak up,
Show me how to hold my cup.

Figure this out, solve this now,
Come on! you've got to to do it now.

Get moving! get going!
Get your wheels turning.

STOP THIS!, i'm tired,
Why are you all afire'd.

Don't tell me what i should do,
Let me do what i want to.

Don't tell me what to think,
I'll be gone in a blink.

Don't tell me what to believe,
Live and let live.

I too love reading poems, especially dramatic romantic ones like super bots.. just cant get enough of his 'fairy power'

I was reading a book during lunch today and came across this captivating poem by an anonymous writer.

There's iron, they say, in all our blood,

And a grain or two perhaps is good;

But his, he makes me harshly feel,

Has got a little too much of steel.'

ANON.

Now That I Can Wank

You broke my heart
'Cause I couldn't wank
You didn't even let me go down
And now I'm back, to let you know
I can really yank the crank

Do you love me? (I can really move)

Do you love me? (I'm in the mood)
Ah do you love? (Do you love me)
Now that I can wank (wank)

Watch me now, oh (wank, wank)

Ah, work it all baby (wank, wank)
Well, you're drivin' me crazy (wank, wank)
With a little bit of soap now (wank)

I can beat the meat (I can beat the meat)

And I can shoot the jizz (I can shoot the jizz)
Now tell me baby (tell me baby)
Mmm, do you like it like this (do you like it like this)
Tell me (tell me)
Tell me

Do you love me? (I can really move)
Do you love me? (I'm in the mood)
Ah do you love? (Do you love me)
Now that I can wank (wank)

Brightstar, would I were steadfast as thou art-
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching,with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient,sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task,
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors.
No-yet still steadfast,still unchangeable
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever in a sweet unrest
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever-or else swoon to death.

My love has evolved

My love has evolved into a struggle against unwanted feelings and emotions,

My love has evolved into a fear of seeing the demise of our sacred vows,

My love has evolved into a nightmare,

My love has evolved into prayers, “God please help us to be well again,”

My love has evolved, but will always be the desire to be with her for eternity.

I ask Thee for a thoughtful love,
One wise and kind, a gentle dove,

To meet the glad with joyful smiles,
And to wipe the weeping eyes.

It's Now That I Can Dance by The Contours.

It's from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack...you telling me you didn't know?

I'll try and post a proper poem next...

The Dance

Each hour apart is a rumba
That rumbles the heart
Fiery flashbacks of red hot passion
Slowly rescind in time’s cold passage

Each loveless minute becomes a teasing minuet
With thoughts parading every second
Of the last time we were together
And the goodness of the weather

Look now – the rains are falling
And my heart is calling out to you:
Step out of my mind and into my arms
Dance with me, to the slow dance of souls

The slow dance of two souls
That stay together, forever
Even after the music ends

Beautiful poem this next one:smile: ... however nothing improper about the first.
Your's was the point i meant when i said funny, mad, quirky,

You say you love me,
Then you proceed,
To change all that is me,
How it hurts me to see,
All you find lacking in me,
Why can't you just love me?
Just as i am, as me.

[Untitled]

Let every drop of sweat
paint a picture on your naked body
A masterpiece of love and affection

Let every drawn out breath
whisper that you want me
Over and over and over again

Let the moon blush crimson
and let distant stars explode
When we are body to body; soul-to-soul
