When people use the term 'chest hair,' do they mean specifically hair on the upper torso, or does it more generally include abdominal hair as well?

I have to admit I find chest hair attractive, but like anything else, one trait alone dosen't make someone attractive alltogether.

I have a modest amount myself, but I didn't have any until my early twenties.

When the tide turns (and it will) and chest hair is 'in' again, it will be funny to see all the slaves of fashion out there stop the shaving/waxing routine and start using Rogaine on their chest or something :)

I used to wax everything except a small patch of pubes, but I have grown quite fond of my body hair now and guys seem to enjoy it too. I still wax my back but the chest (and ass) are just as mother nature intended.

I have enough hair on my legs that it can practically be braided, and yet my upper body (chest and arms) has barely any hair on it. If I was to put together a body makeover wishlist for myself, chest hair and legs thicker than twigs would be high on the list.

I don't have much chest hair, or body hair in general. I have read that this is a Scandinavian trait. I don't know if that's true or not.

It might be a Scandinavian trait. I go to Denmark and Finland most years, and don't feel out of place in swimming pools etc - no chest hair here either!

You waxed!? That was very brave of you.

I watched a program once where a group of men were having themselves waxed and the shouts of pain were hilarious. (Forgive me but it was nice to see guys finally finding out what women go through)

Personally, I love body hair on a man. Chest, belly, arms and legs. Even a little on the back doesn't bother me. I'm very tactile so the extra sensation is a definite plus in my books. Besides, chest hair is a great place to bury my nose in during the afterglow.

Something else about body hair. It helps to trap fragrance so anyone driven by pheromones will be drawn to you like a magnet.

I have a lot of chest hair - most of my partners loved it, for some it´s a real fetish, other just have a different tase. I don´t think it has to do with manhood

I have very little chest hair, but have always sort of wanted more. My two best friends in college were both hairy chested and used to tease me about my lack of it. They said when I was a mature man I'd have chest hair. Funny, though, I was better hung than both of them, got lots more dates, and know I had more sex than both of them combined through college.

Actually, I'd prefer to either be hairy chested or smooth instead of the patchy look I do have. I'm not shaving or waxing, though. Too much trouble.

I think it's a matter of taste. A well-defined chest, whether it's hairy or not, is nice to look at.

Apart from a patch of hairs in the middle of my chest, I was practically hairless until the age of 25. Since then, the hairs have grown and covered most of my chest, and they're much thicker than they ever have been.

Again, if you don't have a hairy chest, don't worry about it. You're not less of a man. 'Vive la différence!' like we say in French. Celebrate it!

well...look at my avatar and i think you know that I'm hairy. I've never shaved my chest, and probably won't (except for a few patches for a stress test that i hated having shaved) it is who I am. truth is..growing up in a family filled with hairy men, I always wanted to have a hairy chest, and am glad I do. most people I have been with really like it, but again, they kind of knew I was hairy beforehand. and yes..to some it was a major fetish. but to each their own. and not having chest hair does not make you any less a man. but being very hairy doesn't make you a Neanderthal either, as is sometimes suggested! everyone is different. but I would be interested in knowing the whys of hairy vs not hairy. genetics obviously..but is there a pattern beyond sterotypes? I'm Italian and German ancestry. but there are plenty of non hairy Italians out there too.
and very hairy Germans. can we add our ancestry to this post and see if patterns/coincidences show up?

I've shaven my chest once and it's a mistake I'm not planning on repeating again. It feels very unnatural for me to be hairless. While I don't have THAT much hair on my chest, I've got a fuzz over most of my body (except shoulders and back, thank God) and shaving that hair felt and looked very strange to me.

Plus, the ladies love the hair, and especially the treasure trail.

I am relatively hairless for a man, especially given the sterotype of Italians. And since this is the case I tend to attract women who prefer less hair on a man. My athletic build makes up for this in the masculinity department.

I have shaved my balls also..they are shaved in one of my pics. but as a rule I just trim them. I grow very long hairs on my balls, anda lot of them too. I trim them because it just looks better, and as burns1de said, it seems most ladies and guys do not like hair in heir mouths!

bodily hair reduces the effect of muscle definition, essentially making you look more "flat"

so many men get rid of their hair to enhance the visual of muscular definition
