Well, I suppose you have a point, but I was contrasting the response of "it literally makes me nauseous" to my response of "meh, so what?" I could be wrong, but I think my "lack of response" is less extreme, and would surmise that a much stronger reaction is more likely to be aversion-conditioning.I'm not criticizing at all, DC, but one might equally justly wonder what kind of conditioning elicits your own response.
You and I have discussed this before, Z. I was always amazed that I, as a gay man, was less "disturbed" by your working parts than you were. This is something I've always had in common with my gay male friends- cooch creeps me out. It disgusts me to the point that I cannot really enjoy straight porn.
Not really. Sexually, I'm more bottom than top, but still, labia and vaginas don't bother me.Wow, I am amazed at the variety of responses here. I am wondering if those gays who tend to be "tops" have a higher tolerance for viewing naked women than do the exclusive "bottoms". But I wonder a lot of crazy things.
Exactly, Matthew. We have a few amongst us who are incapable of making that distinction, both in this thread and about 4 others. For me there is a huge difference between 'not being aroused' vs. being 'disgusted.'
That's the point I've been trying to get across in this and several other threads. Just because you have no interest in having sex with it, that doesn't mean that a vomit-inducing response is normal, right?Regardless of being gay or straight, I tend to view the inability to appreciate either gender's anatomy as a personal setback/flaw. (I naturally exclude people who have had traumatic experiences with the opposite sex). To the OP, I find a position of repulsion to either sex as extreme and unnatural. We all presumably had mothers and fathers, perhaps brothers or sisters as well: to not understand either sex might as well be equivalent to rejecting a father/mother/brother/sister's own beauty.
Hmmm. Icky - like fish bait? I don't find it icky, so much as not particularly interesting by itself. Much like the outer ear. My reaction is, my, what a complicated way to do a simple job; after which I tend to lose interest. In porno, it's pure snooze-a-rama. Boring.I know there are plenty of women who do not share that opinion, but it's a line in the sand thing for me- absolutely icky.
*starts singing*
This is the porn that never eeends
yes it goes on and on my frieeends.
Some lesbos staaarted fingerbanging,
writhing to the beat,
and just when you believe they're through
their moans start to repeat
cuz it's the porn that never eeends,
yes it goes on and on my frieeends.
Some lesbos staaarted fingerbanging,
writhing to the beat,
and just when you believe they're through
their moans start to repeat

And so on and so forth until fade to black.

I respectfully suggest that you are being presumptuous. I expect that there are people here (at least one) fully capable of making the distinction (between being uninterested and being revolted) and yet are both uninterested and revolted.
I think DC's exactly right. Many people conflate their lack of interest with disgust and justify it based on its "normalcy." That fact that you or I or some others are able to separate the two doesn't preclude the obvious fact that many members here are not able. And I think that's exactly what DC meant when he said "a few of us."
I stand corrected. I was presumptuous to think that the physiological and psychological normative standard is not a gag/vomit reflex at the thought of a penis or a vagina. It is, of course, more normal to gag when genitals are mentioned, than it is not to gag.I respectfully suggest that you are being presumptuous. I expect that there are people here (at least one) fully capable of making the distinction (between being uninterested and being revolted) and yet are both uninterested and revolted.
Thanks for the defense, Matthew, but I've said my mea culpas and realize the error of my ways. By the way, did I really say "a few of us"? Of course, I meant all of us.I think DC's exactly right. Many people conflate their lack of interest with disgust and justify it based on its "normalcy." That fact that you or I or some others are able to separate the two doesn't preclude the obvious fact that many members here are not able. :biggrin1: Well, it would have been a silly question to ask the straight or bisexual guys, right? Even though I'm 100% gay, I still don't get it... the OP, I mean.I'm not supposed to answer this because it is only for "gay" guys to answer and not addressed to any of us completely INVISIBLE bisexuals... (you know my answer anyway... I like it all!)
So, the question for the gay guys out there....Is this how you feel when have similar thoughts about girls?
