I am pissed and going to rant a bit. I have to say I am sick of people miss reading other post and being jerks even after half the members pointed out the mistake they make. I mean how hard is it to say OOPS my bad, sorry. Hey I have had my fair share of mistakes and misread a few threads myself. I am not innocent here, I know I have upset people and miss read threads but at least I try to say sorry when I am told or discover it, Sometime thru PM and other on the thread. How hard is it for someone to own up to there mistakes. I mean some of these comments I am seeing are so small and yet they come across even bigger jerks when told hey check your facts and apologies. Other comments are so big that everyone sees the error and tries to get the person to see it for what it is and they tell everyone off and insist that they are right. Okay this is just how I feel right now. You don't like it okay just me ranting thats all.

You can use this thread to be pissed off at me, or make your own statements of annoyances. sometime letting off a little steam helps take the pressure off.

I know the particular "opinion" the OP is referring to. It wasn't just an "opinion", it was someone who misread what her husband posted, insulted her husband's family, and then refused to admit that he misread even when pointed out by several people!

Normally, I say "let people have their opinions" but when someone gets started with insults and personal attacks (and this from something he was reading into a post wrongly and everyone else understood this!), then that's gone too far.

Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion. However, when a person has to make personal attacks in order to make a point, in my opinion he (or she) hasn't got a leg to stand on.

I agree and some people go out of their way to be mean, belittling,demeaning, there is a core group of about 10 people whose sole job here is to cause trouble, I agree with cigarbabe also, everyones entitled to their opinion but to cause havoc and go off the OPs original subject is stupid, why dont they just start their own thread and tear each other apart, leave the decent people out of it.

While I don't know what specific thread you're referring to, if somebody erroneously (second time I used that word today!) read your post, attacked you for it and then didn't apologize after being enlightened as to what you REALLY meant, said individual is a fucktard. No two ways around that. This site is full of assholes, as is life in general. Fortunately, it's easy enough to ignore people on this site and just walk away from it.

Cool thread, i think sometimes were just looking for someone to pounce on, kinda like a hidden agenda thing.
Or maybe we have issues that we don`t know how to deal with so we tend to focus on someone elses and viciously pick them apart.
I once hit a kid in the stomach because i wanted to fit in, after i did it i felt bad and helped him up to his feet and was ridiculed for it from the kids i was trying to fit in with, i shrugged them off and told the kid i was sorry, i felt like a total heel.
Human nature is to either fit in, tear it apart, or be apart from, it`s a wonder we as a human race haven`t blow the planet up yet.
I`m glad theres a god and i`m not it, or peoples heads would burst into flames like michael j. in the pepsi commercial.
I can certainly come accross as an ass sometimes but those who know me well know that i`ve always got an umbrella for you to stand under when times hit hard, if you`re my friend then you know i`m far from perfect, and i accept you as the same.
People will come and go but true friends are for life, i`ve had several differences with people on lpsg but that would not stop me from being kind to them when i know they really need it the most.
Lpsg is a very outspoken site, it is not for the week minded that`s for sure.

This is exactly what I thought after reading the first few responses. All I can say is that the more words a person is presented with, the less likely they are to read them.

I have recently started spending more time here and enjoying the posts and have run headfirst in at times causing naive offence to people. I hold my hands up, which is more than can be said for grown-up mothers and fathers here. A couple of times I have been bullied. I have tried to resolve through PM only to have the PM posted in the main forum and to be honest just as Monster said I recognise a core group who are no more than fuckwit bullies. I wasn't given an opportunity to learn the ropes. This is the first site like this I have been on. I have barely over 250 posts and much of those have been from today as I was in bed all day. No one asked if I was familiarising myself here. Behaviour like this leads to contempt also, because I for one do not get shitted on or fucked over by anyone at all and so I retaliated at times, but now I cannot be bothered. I have sent 2 PMs to one particular woman, who is always talking about her husband and kids and yet she cannot strike up a decent conversation with me on here. One other woman said she felt 'sorry for my mother and kids if I have any' because I misunderstood something as a joke, which was serious. This was in my first post. No room to make mistakes. I tell you I am over it. Monster warned me and he is right. I got love for most people here. Some really nice people, but there are a great deal of Racists, Misogynists and Bullies here also. Dumb cunts. Now I have learnt the ropes, not thanks to them. I am gonna name names in the next rant. RANT OVER!

I think some of the people you refer to are nasty crotchety old-timers who think they own the site. There is an actual owner of this site, Rob E. And from what I have been able to discern there are wide parameters for what is "acceptable" on lpsg.

And we all make mistakes. That's what being human is all about. I wish more people could be humble enough to own up to them and to have humor about it too. I can, and do, laugh at my own mistakes when I've seen them.
