Sometimes the language used by the men in straight porn really bothers me. So many times I have been watching one and I thought, "Oh, why did you have to say that? Was that really necessary? I was enjoying this one until then and now yuck!" As a result, I usually turn off the sound so I won't get turned off by what the guy says to the woman he's fucking. There have been some that have been permanently ruined for me. Turning off the sound won't make me forget that I really think that guy is a real dick, so I don't care about his dick any more.

It's just one of the reasons why I prefer watching gay porn. Men don't often do that to each other in gay porn and so it seems so much more sex positive to me and much more enjoyable.

I was just now thinking about this and a thought occurred to me, so I present my question to you, straight men of LPSG...

Is this a case of what turns me off turns straight men on? Have you ever watched porn and thought, "You know, this would be so much sexier if he called her a slut more often." Does that happen? Do you feel that the porn would be less sexy if the guy didn't call her a slut or a whore? How much of language like that has to do with how much you enjoy porn?

I honestly couldn't care less. I have honestly never found someone able to watch porn who is also offended by foul language; the former seems worse...

Huh?

Watching porn in and of itself is BAD?
Because it is bad and I am watching it anyway, I should have NO standards?

I agree with none of that tripe.

Petite, I came back just for a moment to link you to a old thread of mine from many years ago. It was quite controversial when I wrote it.

http://www.lpsg.org/87215-sluts-and-whores.html

Oh, thank you, sweetie! You're the best!

That's a great thread! Great first post! I agree with your opinion.

The question that popped to mind for me is, are porn makers simply responding to a demand for that kind of stuff from straight men because that's what straight men want? Would men find a porn scene less sexy if the guy didn't call her a whore and a slut, so that's why there's so much of it now?

I think he meant that being offended by viewing women being degraded in porn is worse? It doesn't make sense to me either.

I'm not sure, I can't remember all the responses that I got in that thread, but it got really ugly from a male vs. female point of view in porn. It was weird. Something about how the backlash of disrespect towards women has something to do with how men are being told not to treat women in any way that could be deemed as disrespectful so they get this sort of enjoyment in porn. It went in many conversational directions. So if you want to take a gander at the responses in that thread to see how they might help answer your question, I encourage you to do so because it was more about male response to my Sluts and Whores theory. Made me see things in a different light by the end. It was a bang of a thread that would never die. I may have gotten banned before it did die, I can't remember.

But I digress, a lot of veteran male posters contributed to that thread and it made me either respect them more or have no respect for them by the end of their rant about my rant.

I really want to know if this is something that some men are aroused by and if they feel like their porn wouldn't be as erotic without it. It seems like some men must be turned on by it because I see the titles that they give their threads in the Straight Porn section on LPSG, but maybe they're just foul-mouthed and that's the way that they speak and it's not something that actually turns them on. How can I know unless I ask the question?

girls sorry to say what I am just about to say but I m going to say it nontheless... Porn is not menat for women. so please let it to us men. Every time I watched porn with a girl or a group of girls I noticed they always find issues instead of really enjoying the view and masturbate like crazy... The language used in porn is just functional to it, we males won't be turned on if it was used a soap opera language...just think before speaking please... Also it has been said enough bout the visual nature of men and their need for explicit scenes to get turned on... you girls need more of a trama to be really involved in any kind of movie so definitely porn is not a women issue

That doesn't explain why men in gay porn don't usually do that stuff. They are men, too, after all.

And I made no complaint about the "visual" stuff at all. I enjoy that stuff, too. I was asking about the language used by the guy while he's fucking her.

well Petite Little Lady, I guess we should mosey on outta this thread now. Porn is not a Women's Issue. We need trauma in order to be turned on and men need the harshest most disrespectful language to get turned on. We shouldn't even be watching it.

Maybe finding out just how many men aren't turned on by today's porn standards might be a little disappointing to the men who are enjoying the status quo from the porn industry.

The stuff we are trying to find out is that it's obvious that mainstream porn is not made with women in mind. But is it being made with men in mind? Or are producers cranking out shit and no one is complaining as long as they are feeling their own load on their tummy as a result of even bad porn.

Personally I hate mainstream whatever... music, cinema, porn,etc... Pornwise I hate shaved cunts, fake tit and facial features, clean and shining sets etc.. I love amateur and hairy cunts, daily situations etc... I think a man who is turned on by mainstream porn is able to cum fucking a plastic doll.

Not EVERY porn uses the language you've listed.
And YES...as a straight man it can(sometimes) be a turn on to call a woman a slut or a whore. And I've had women tell me to use those terms during sex. And it seems like a lot of the females porn stars actually embrace those words "slut" and "whore" and use them to empower themselves...taking a negative and flipping it. Not unlike Black people took the n-word and flipped it...and now used in the right context can be actaully used as a term of endearment(not that I agree with it)...but it is what it is. Hope that was of some use.

Of course not. That's not what I was asking.

Are you saying that it turned you on because the woman wanted to be called that? Or is that just a justification of why it was okay? Because I wasn't asking women if they want to be called sluts or whores, and I'm sure that there are many who do, I'm asking men like you if you would find porn less sexy if they weren't called sluts or whores.

So, are you saying that when you call a woman a slut, it's actually a term of endearment? Well, if that's how you feel, then it's not really what I'm talking about. It hardly seems endearing in the context I was referring to in my OP. I'm not talking about sweetly calling a woman "my little slut" but those guys who say it degradingly, usually while doing something humiliating to her.

How about this, as a person who feels that it's a phrase that can be owned that way, how do you feel when it's used the way it is in porn? Is it still a turn-on? Would the porn you enjoy be less enjoyable without it? Do you wish that the guys talked to the women in porn differently? Or do you like it the way it is?

Quite frankly it does not matter IMO... Or maybe guys are so busy that they don't even give heed to the language being used. If it is there, fine... If not, well.... nothing is lost!

I agree with none of that tripe.

I meant in terms of how it is looked upon by society.

I don't find porn bad, nor do I find swearing bad. But some people abhor both.

Your OP makes it sound as if you were saying ALL straight porn. Which is why I responded that not EVERY porn.

...perhaps you should post some of the porn you're refering to.
And to be honest I pay very little attention to what the guy in porn is saying.

Oh, I didn't mean to, but I think it's too late to change it now. That's interesting. Thanks for answering.

tbh, i'm more bothered by japanese porn, where the girl looks like she's in a constant state of distress/pain. how guys can jack off to that is beyond me. i like a girl who's getting well fucked and enjoying every minute of it.
