I don’t think Samuel is whining at all. Kind of a bullshit take right there. Dylan hooked up with Samuel and constantly went to him for solace and comfort because he likes Samuel. Of course Samuel is gonna think they’re dating
Bullshit or not, he knew who Dylan was before he got involved with him. Their bond grew very quickly and when he needed a place to live, Dylan told him he could stay with him, rent free. One could say they were all but a couple back then and what did Samuel do? He slept with his roommate and now wants to put conditions on what Dylan does,.Everyone is trying to direct his love interest/life but no one is really interested in what he has to say or how he feels.

When Samuel showed up at Dylan's place after he was told not to was very intrusive and not very easy going or laid back Samuel has always said he didn't want to make Dylan do anything he didn't want to but ignoring his wishes or trying to make him put a label on things is kind of less than desirable behavior.

You don't see Monica trying to box him in and at this point of the story, she's also the only one that hasn't made him the butt of their jokes or treat him kind of shitty like the others have. If anyone deserves more it would be Monica but that doesn't mean that I necessarily want to see them together.

First of all… There was only a subtle sign Dylan liked Samuel more as friends AFTER Samuel and Corey hooked up. Before Samuel and Corey hooked up, Dylan didn’t even know Samuel was into guys. The writer revealed that after the hookup. So I don’t think you can use that argument since it’s irrelevant.
Samuel puts conditions now because they had sex twice and shared romantic moments. Before they hooked up Samuel wasn’t even aware Dylan liked him romantically. Dylan wasn’t even fully aware of it either. I honestly don’t understand why you’re trying to defend the guy’s claims lol. I don’t think it’s a weird thing to think you guys are dating if you spend a lot of time together and have sex, I think most of us would also think that would be the case.

Samuel also isn’t ignoring Dylan’s wishes, it’s Dylan that plays hot and cold with him, whenever Dylan is near Samuel they hookup and are romantic and then Dylan disappears and doesn’t even text Samuel.
Monica doesn’t box Dylan because she doesn’t want to be his girlfriend, she likes having sex with him, but she doesn’t really show any romantic interest. It’s more from Dylan’s side if anything.

So him wanting to either date or stop hooking up is somehow contributing to the “crazy ex girlfriend” trope? Hmmm. That you personally don’t value meaningful monogamous relationships is your issue. That doesn’t mean the character Sam is possessive for wanting a monogamous relationship with the boy he likes and hooks up with.
I don’t understand “shell of what he used to be” comment. He already was a shell when hooking up and hurting girls, cause he was so out of touch with himself and lacked basic empathy that he just went around and hurt people like it did nothing to him. He also brushed people off who confronted him and his problematic behaviour, if that’s someone you look up to you’re the kinda person people should stay away from, cause you’re the problem.
First chill, don't take it too seriously or personally. Second I value monogamous relationship a lot and that's why him barely having intimacy with Dylan and going straight to monogamous relationship seems like HE doesn't value them, to me at least. He is like that with everyone he has intimacy apparently which means this is meaningless.

Third, I think indeed he wasn't feeling empathy or he wasn't allowing himself to feel emotions before. But now what is he doing? He does things that make absolutely no sense. He hangs with these strangers, he sleeps naked with Monica, without even wanting to have anything with her because Sam has a relationship or nothing dagger on his neck. Idk. If he wants so bad to be with Sam then go be with him and stop messing with people that you don't even want to be with.

Sam is boring to me now tbh. There's no fun there, only seriousness/guilt/pressure. I'd have preferred for Dylan to go easy on his first time doing gay things and choosing to be eventually after being sure in a monogamous relationship. Not one ultimatum raining upon him. That's my opinion. We can differ.

I guess we will agree to disagree on things but if there were interest between Dylan and Samuel why keep it a secret from Dylan or why did Dylan get so angry?

When Dylan arrived at university, it was already past eleven. He took his laptop out of his bag and sat down next to Michael. "Yo, mate. How are you doing?", Dylan said as he shook his hand. "Great, but let's catch up further during the break", Michael responded and focused on his textbook. "Such a nerd", Dylan grinned and sat down. He opened the first chapter and began to read.

"Mate, there was this one girl at the gym. She was fit as hell. She was wearing those tight elastic pants, you know what I mean, and only a sports bra. All the lads were distracted. It was fucking ace", Michael said eagerly as he ate his lunch. With every bite, Dylan could see his jaw muscles move through the thin skin at the side of his head. "Did you go up to her?" "We exchanged some looks", Michael smiled, "I'm telling you, she fancies me. Next time I'll ask her out". "For like a proper date?" "She's definitely the type of girl you have to please before sleeping with her." "Where will you bring her?" "I don't know, mate. I just saw her, innit. Probably some fancy ass restaurant." Dylan grinned. He knew Michael must already be fantasising about their date. He enjoyed the chase as much as the ending.

"Did you think about my offer?", Michael suddenly asked. Dylan finished his bite while he thought about how to reply. "Yea, I did", Dylan responded, "I really appreciate you inviting me to stay at your place, but I think I'm doing alright. I've been trying to get in a rhythm". "So why weren't you at the gym this morning?". "I was at Monica's." Michael looked him in his eyes and the corners of his lips curled up. He clenched his teeth and his jawline sharpened. "You were? Is it already official?", he asked eagerly. Dylan grinned and looked away. "No, no. But we talked." "You did? That's great news, mate. What did you conclude?" It was refreshing to see Michael this enthusiastic and Dylan felt content. "You know, just about us. I told her I don't want to go further than just friends", he said.

During the few seconds of silence, the mood of the conversation changed. Michael only reacted brusquely: "Why?". Even though he tried to hide it, he was obviously disappointed in the outcome. "I'm not feeling like it. You said I had to make decisions, innit." "You should make proper decisions though. She's fucking ace. Why would you leave her? You should call yourself lucky with such a girl on your side." "I told you. I'm not feeling it", Dylan defended himself, "We're just better off as friends". "As friends?", Michael exclaimed, "Why would anyone see her just as friends? She's obviously worth way more than that. Are you fucking blind?". "No, I'm not. I just don't feel like it." Michael shook his head and pressed his thin lips together. "What did you say to her? Did she handle it well?" "I told her we could still cuddle if she wants to, but nothing more." "Mate. What's wrong with you? Nothing more? You cannot cuddle with such a fine girl and not go further. You can just be friends with benefit, innit." Michael appeared to become angry at Dylan which made him only defend himself further. "You said I had to make decisions. I don't want to keep her on a leash, you know what I mean. She deserves someone who fancies her." "You fancy her, Dylan." Michael's eyes looked sharply at Dylan. He felt light in his stomach. What if he had made a mistake? He shook off the thought and pressed his lips together. "No, I don't. She's better off without me. Why don't you just accept it?", he said, his words coming out more confidently than he expected. Michael leaned back in his chair and looked elsewhere.

After a few seconds of pondering, he sighed. "Alright, sure", he began, "If this is what you really want". "I do", Dylan responded with a forged certainty. "Was she disappointed?", Michael asked in a careful tone. "I'm not sure. I think so. She was still trying to get with me. Frankly, it was quite difficult to resist." "Obviously", Michael responded, "What did she say?". "Not that much. It wasn't a lengthy conversation but I think she understands." "Alright. At least you made a decision. What now?" "What do you mean?" "Are you gonna date some other girl?" Dylan did not know whether Michael was deliberately avoiding mentioning Samuel, or whether he thought that was in the past. "We'll see."
Is this story still going?
Or was this the end of it? Lol

Wait, that's a reason for Samuel and Corey to keep the fact they were fucking from Dylan? Because he couldn't accept the fact he was into men. If that was their reasoning hiding it from Dylan was unnecessary.

That betrayal by Samuel was a shifty thing to do and he new it because he was suddenly able to find a place to live immediately. When has Dylan ever betrayed Samuel? He should be thinking about that in the back of his mind. If it was a one time thing them maybe it was a mistake but it happened more than once.

Maybe Samuel is worried about the same thing and is doing everything in his power to stop Dylan from doing the same thing. Samuel shouldn't have a problem with Dylan sleeping with Monica since it does mean anything, right? That was his response to Dylan once they were caught in the act

Sorry what do you mean? I'm having difficulty in understanding. Why would Samuel betray him?

I have no idea but I have been checking this site in anticipation
Me tooo... It's actually so cool that quite a large group of us has followed this story from the very beginning and we're still hooked on what's next!

And to be fair, I still have no clue what intrigues me so much. I sure don't hope it's bc of any resemblance between me and Dylan lol

Any idea when the next update will be?
I couldn't help myself but ask the author in private as I was too curious. He's quite responsive and said it'll be there soon. Ultimately, we had quite a thorough conversation about the story as well.

Yeah Samuel was hooking up with Cory before there was anything between Dylan and he.
You guys say before Samuel & Dylan was a thing but I think something was already building between the two of them and they had began to care about each other in some form or fashion. If there were no feelings why did Dylan get so angry to the point he had to leave his own home. Why did Samuel feel like he needed to sneak around with Corey and fuck behind his back if there wasn't a possibility of something forming between the two of them?

Samuel did not stick around to talk to Dylan, he was able to find a place to live where he was having difficulties finding a place before and moved out without having a conversation with Dylan, which it seems like that all he wants to do now is talk. The betrayal happened the moment Samuel laid down with Cory. He knew Dylan didn't like Corey and to sleep with him while Dylan was out of the house then try to get close to him when he returns. This is probably the reason Samuel kept telling Dylan he should be nicer to Corey. And finally, I wish the author would have explored the topic of how the entire thing started because that part of the story was left with them blaming each other for starting it.

"And? What do you think?", Samuel asked eagerly, "Is it any good?". Dylan blew air through his mouth to cool off the hot cheese. He swallowed when it was cold enough and smiled. "It's insanely tasty." Samuel smiled brightly and his soft eyes sparkled. He sat down next to Dylan and gave a kiss on Dylan's cheek. "Great to hear", he said in a thick, Spanish accent, "I've been trying out new ingredients each time I make the lasagne, but these ones seem to do the job". "What's the secret?" Samuel looked mischievously at Dylan: "That I cannot tell, of course". "Baby batter?", Dylan joked before he realised it. When Samuel looked confused at him, he apologised. "What's that?", Samuel asked innocently. "It's nothing, mate", Dylan laughed, "So.. Have you been playing basketball lately?". "Eh.. Yea, quite some. At the association", Samuel replied bewildered and went back to the kitchen.

When Samuel returned with two glasses of wine, he seemed lost in thought. He put down the glasses and lit a candle. "Baby pets..", he mumbled while sitting down opposite to Dylan. "Batter", Dylan corrected him and laughed. "Batter?", Samuel repeated slowly, "What's that?". "It's a eh.. You know, a liquid mixture. For cooking. Like pancake batter", Dylan explained with a grin. "You mean for baking? What can you make with baby batter?" "Baby's", Dylan said dryly. He enjoyed watching Samuel's confused expression. "Is it something British? Do you use it to make lasagne?" Dylan grinned. "You've got the Spanish version as well. We use it for a range of things, but mostly you swallow it whole." "Uncooked?" "Uncooked." Samuel raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Really? Is it still tasty?" Dylan laughed hard. "I don't know. I've never tasted it before." "Why not?" "It's not my cup of tea", he said and poked Samuel on his side, "You seem to love it though". "Me? I've never had it, I think." Dylan laughed again. "I think you've had plenty, mate. I've seen you eat it." "Oh.. I guess so, then", Samuel shrug his shoulders and began to eat the lasagne. "Would you like to try it?", Dylan teased. "Yea, sure. Maybe I can use it next time." "Alright", Dylan grinned and stood up. He undid his belt while watching Samuel's bewildered expression. He then slowly unbuttoned his pants and pretended to drag them down while he observed Samuel slowly figuring it out.

His pants must have been halfway down his underwear when Samuel finally mumbled: "Puta". Samuel rolled with his eyes and rested his head on his hands, but even his arms could not hide a bright smile. "You're unbelievable, Dyl", he said while shooking his head. Dylan could not stop laughing. "That was hilarious, mate", he said while closing the buttons of his pants. "You're such a child", Samuel said yet could not resist laughing along, "So much for the romantic diner". "Sorry, mate."

That is funny but really short chapter this time
