This thread, a few of the comments in there and a totally unrelated event at home got me thinking a bit tonight about the somewhat skewed proportions and expectations we get on size on this site. I'm no less guilty in this respect as will show itself a bit further down...
True that Mandingo, who is discussed in the linked thread, isn't the 14"+ that porn sites tend to portray him as. That I already knew and understood. Even before tonight's events I highly doubted there are many (if any...) true 14" cocks out there.
But without doubt, Mandingo is definitely one of the bigger in today's porn industry - best guesses I've seen seem to estimate somewhere around the 11" mark and thickness to go with it (I wouldn't wager a guess on that as I've discovered my own visuals can be unreliable - but likely in excess of 6"). My guess would be that he's probably one of the bigger all time - definitely if we go by the 'naturals', i.e. not silicone enhanced to increase thickness. But that's not really what I wanted to get at - wanted to relate how I discovered that my own perception of proportion and size is at times just as distorted as some of the posters in the above thread. Just today I got a whole salami sausage as a gift at work and for fun I measured it when I got home as it in proportion is similar to a gigantic cock. Turned out to be just below 7" around and a shade above 13" in length - absolute and true measurements.
And belive me - that salami sausage is massive. If I had guessed - I would have guessed closer to 8" around and probably upwards of 15" in length. Now, I'm a woman not easily scared by size, having the preference that I have - but wouldn't even think about trying something of the proportions that I see and feel in that salami.
And to be quite truthfully honest that got me thinking one step further - if I overestimate the size of a sausage like that - how much am I myself guilty of overestimating sizes of the guys I've been with? Probably a bit - not out of ill will, not out of wanting to brag - simply out of having an unrealistic view on what a true 9" or 10" with proportionate girth looks like.
Made me realize that I probably at the most have had a good and true 8" of cock as the biggest I've had in length. And a shade below 6" in girth as my thickest - with most of the big guys I've been with probably measuring in at somewhere around 5.5" around. Now, the numbers themselves aren't interesting - because those cocks are still big - both going by true numbers and how they feel inside me.
But they aren't the 9.5x6 or slightly above as the "regular big guy I've met more than one of" as I've imagined and thought just by going from how they measure up against my hands. Guess what - they are - and I would probably be both a bit scared, fascinated, dripping wet and awed if I ever have the opportunity of coming across a true 9x6 or above. Not to mention if Mandingo himself would show up with what's a best guess estimate of around 11" - from re-iterating my own thoughts from earlier tonight with the salami they would probably go "shit, is that what it looks like - what on earth would I do with that?"
