next time, politely say to the parents that you are a nervous older man and that their child is causing you much discomfort. If that doesn't make them correct the kid...then maybe you should slap the shit out of the parents instead of the kid.
a much better idea!
that would make him a 'walmart hero'
slapping a child about just makes him a bully.

oh, an a 2y/o is a toddler.
we're talking about a little girl probably still in diapers.
sometimes they cry.
slapping her in the face would fix nothing.
she would have no idea why some strange man attacked her.
but she will likely be scared of strangers for a long time to come.

and face slapping is risky.
detached retinas, neck trauma, brain injury.
it says on bdsm sites 'there's no absolutely safe way to face slap', and that's talking about hitting a healthy adult.

i'm stunned anyone would try to justify this.
it's not the same as a smack on the bum.

It might be a Southern thing, but it is not uncommon for a relative to spank someone else's kid at a family event. I have never had a complete stranger smack my kid, though a nice older woman did give him the scary mom eye and tell him to come back to me after he tried to run away to the toy aisle.

it says that after he told her to shut the baby up he approached her again in another aisle, so obviously they did move away from each other the first time.

YES!!!!!!!

but now adays grandmamma is 35, momma is worrying about passing her finals so she can start her junior years with a bang in order to get good placement at devry technical institute

i don't know whats worse, the woman on welfair (buying playstation games and shoes) with 4 kids ALL screaming at the top of their lungs or the woman with 2 kids between 6 and 13 at wal-mart at 2am on a school night.............. You have to get a permit to carry an inanimate object but any 2 idiots can get together and make the next hitler who spends his childhood disrupting meals, up at 1am on school nights stealing from the neghibors and keeping the lifer's in prision happy witht he fresh supply of bitches to trade for candy bars and cigarettes

I went to high school with girls like that. One girl who started having kids in junior high is a soon to be grandma now that her 14 year old is keeping the family tradition alive.

axlx2009 I hear you and feel your pain; BUT it is NEVER acceptable to hit someone elses child!!! Who ever said this is not a spanking issue is correct. :yup: I don't care what she was doing, he had no right to accost a strangers child. :261: Not only that, but the idiot was in Walmart, not Le Bec Fin or some 5 star restaurant. Heck, I'm surprised, if I don't hear a crying baby in my local Walmart. You just tune it out, get your Tide and Tostito's and leave.

Stranger allegedly slaps crying child in store
According to the arresting officer, the child's mother said her daughter was crying as they walked down one of the aisles. The mother said a stranger later identified as Stephens approached them and said, "If you don't shut the baby up, I will shut her up for you." A few moments later, while the mother and the crying child were in another aisle, Stephens allegedly grabbed the girl and slapped her across the face.

Police said he hit her four or five times. "See, I told you I would shut her up," the suspect allegedly told the mother. Authorities described "slight redness" to the toddler's face. Before he was arrested, Stephens apologized to the mother for striking the girl, the incident report said.

Interesting side note. As of the 11:00 PM news Mr. Stephens is being held without bail. I hope it is pending some psychological testing. Clearly there is something wrong with this man. I'm not saying that's an excuse; but maybe he needs to have his meds adjusted.

don't buy it.... i fit 9 out of 10 symtoms of aspergers, but in all honesty i just don't buy 90% of psychology. not a scientologist or nothing just not a big believer in the new religion that is psychology just my opnion
That explains a lot.

Oh family is different, and I thought that was a black thang. :biggrin1:

The old man may have dementia or other mental issues. Time will tell.
I was thinking the same thing. :yup:

Actually she could develop a fear of strangers and men, specifically older white men. :frown1: Great, now we have another young, white girl destined to end up a lesbian, pole dancer, or even better the star of one of those "teen princess luvs black snake porn sites." :irked:

As an adult if there is a screaming child near me in any store 1) I give the child the stern mom look. 2) I get what I need in that aisle. 3) I walk away, I am an adult. I do not stand there threatening the child and it's mother. Actually #3 is often my first line of defense.

child abuse is child abuse.
and it's not a child's fault they are poorly parented.
if you have an issue you take it up with the parents.
I had a young child throwing things at me from the next booth. when I asked them to control the child, the father called me a fuckin asshole and said to shut up. I didn't say anything after that, but told the manager at the cash register about it... after the dad took his son's hand and waved it, and said "say good by to the asshole". the manager was stunned when I told him what happened and was sorry I hadn't said something earlier. "I would have ejected them immediately!"

sad but true.

In stone mountain ga today a 60 year old man slapped a crying child 4 times in the face............ he is of course being charged ect

before every one jumps feet first into the fuck him pool, think about ONE thing.... think about the limpness in your shoulders and the loud sigh that is a knee jerk reaction that you, me, him, her ya mama ALL get.... when you are sitting in a nice topnotch resturaunt and you look up, and you see the yuppie in shorts and sandles and his fridged wasp wife walking to the booth next to you, carrying that screaming pink banshee and little cody and molly running around screaming in a loose pattern behind them....

now, after you think about how many times chicken parmasigan has been ruined by screaming brats parents refuse to manage........ your thoughts?

Here is a link to do with the OP comment;

Man slaps stranger’s crying kid| ajc.com

I think that anyone who condones this behaviour was probably slapped in the face a few too many times their ownselves.

young children cry sometimes...deal with it.
